I refer the Honorable Gentleman to the reply I gave earlier.

This will probably end up like those strings of fish or tree puns which end up going round in circles.

Looks like the absolute numbers as well as % numbers of hospital cases in SA are much better than feared which is excellent.

Can you think of any reason?

  • It was chaos though, I thought it would have been a little bit more restrained. I was just thinking lets hope it is milder amongst the high humidity.

You're going to a supermarket 2 days before Xmas. It's always absolutely mental!

Got the click and collect organised yesterday. 15 minutes. Job done.
  • I was getting paranoid last night when I had the sniffles in my nose, strange times.

Bit mine this evening, not looking forward to it as I've heard a lot more people saying they've felt rough after this than with the original two.
  • I had an achy arm for three days, that's it. It was pretty achy though, uncomfortable to sleep on for two days. The same with the rest of the family, no other issues.

The booster knocked me out for a weekend, I wouldn't want it a day or so before Christmas day... you might be lucky, but personally I'd skip it and reschedule it.

FWIW I didn't notice my two AZ vaccines at all.

My 55 year old unvaccinated brother has just had Covid, he didn't even stop working (from home obviously).

I had an achy arm with 2x AZ too, the Pfzier booster felt worse, no problem though.

Had a bit of a (n obvious) thought earlier... surely the case numbers are much higher than the testing is showing. There will be lots of people who catch "a cold" and carry on regardless; there will be lots of people who have cold symptoms and therefore test at home and show positive, and leave it at that (either then act responsibly and isolate, but not necessarily reporting the test result or ignoring AND not reporting).

You could reasonably multiply that ~90,000 figure several times, surely.

I'm aware this is has probably been covered in great detail in this thread already, apologies if that's the case!

I struggled after my first AZ dose. Second AZ and Moderna booster were sound. Couple of paracetamol before bed and when I got up the next day.

Take paracetamol before going. Worked for me.
Zero effects from all 3 jabs.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Do you reckon that are looking at different evidence; or they like lockdowns and need to justify the restrictions with a pessimistic message?

  • Despite the positive evidence, I can understand why someone calling the shots wants to be "better safe than sorry" with regards the demands on essential services, especially if a reasonable amount of people throw caution to the wind.

I wouldn't want to make the call.

Taking painkillers such as paracetamol before receiving the COVID-19 vaccine to prevent side effects is not recommended.

This is because painkillers may affect how well the vaccine works.

Wales already had most of the 'tighter' restrictions that England has introduced in place so maybe they felt they needed to be seen to be toughening up as well

Generally I think WG has done a better job but some of their recent decisions seem very random e.g. banning crowds at outdoor sporting events before introducing any restrictions on pubs.
