Well, I think we've demonstrated that RC's effort at saving three letters has led to several hundred being expended on revealing that nicknames for places are only worth using if, er, other people know WTF you're on about.

Surely you mean germers? Or maybe germs would be more appropriate.
    Deutschies surely?

You're preaching to the choir Brian. Or rather, to the singers.

Definitely hits a nerve with the older crowd ;-)
  • Am on a train and someone has got on coughing, sneezing and spluttering, not wearing a mask.

What do you do? Other than move away, obviously.

I am 2 for 2 for asking people to mask up who sit next to me.

I went for very softly softly "would you mind awfully if..." and seemed to work, even if one of them looked beyond incredulous, she still masked up.

It was always my understanding that methotrexate is stronger than the stuff that I take, but there are patients taking it, out there still awaiting their booster (I had mine 16th October), apparently.

    Excellent study though.

Holland are about to announce a new 3 week lockdown. Case numbers are really high - adjusting for population sizes their current daily rates Would equate to roughly 64,000 a day here are slightly in the UK. I’m not massively surprised, as when I was there 3 weeks ago it was as if a pandemic had never happened - we stayed in a hotel for 3 nights and saw literally no one else wearing a mask during our stay.

Germany at slightly under 50,000 positive cases a day too. Austria also seeing numbers rising and have said they are about to implement a lockdown for anyone unvaccinated.

There are other things about too. If they’re sneezing, it’s probably not Covid.

Bloke in Co-op tonight, telling the cashier how his wife has tested positive for covid, and that he's tested himself five times today, because he's going to his wife's sister's wedding tomorrow, as his upset wife obviously can't go now.

I'll let you guess whether he was wearing a mask just in case he's contagious...

    It's no wonder we're screwed.

We have to learn to live with it. It’s not going anywhere, anytime soon. Get the vulnerable protected, then let it rip.

Anyone worried about a lockdown will be feeling a lot more relaxed about it reading the last two posts.

    God what a twatty post.

Living with it shouldn't involve wilfully spreading it, any more so than wilfully spreading any other pote tially fatal disease.

I was due to sing in my first post-lockdon concert next weekend. The new rules here meant we would need to either have a Covid passport or upload a photo and details of a negative lateral flow. This resulted in quite a few choir members refusing to take part as it is a breech of their civil liberties etc. (even though I think they are all double jabbed and most have had a booster) to the extent we weren't sure if we'd have sufficient numbers. We have now had to call it off as several choir members have tested positive this week.

It's not even proper trolling, it's just a series of words, in a vaguely grammatical order. There's no meaning or thought behind them, as far as I can tell. Really not worth any responses. Still no idea why he hangs around here. Just bizarre.
  • That's a nightmare for the singapores that.

The choir being cancelled is a nightmare for the singers.
