Expert messaging: "Get your booster - remember, there's too many dickheads who won't even wear a mask while walking around a hospital at a time of high cases"

On this very same visit on the news later that night he is on camera wearing a mask as he tours round other parts of the hospital. It the cuts to him giving an interview in front of an MRI scanner without a mask. So essentially he both wears a mask and doesn't. So it is fair to say that he does not never wear a mask but I could not tell you what his criteria is.
Apparently he was not wearing a mask for broadcast interviews, then went out to meet these people, forgetting to put his mask back on. He was reminded that he was supposed to wear a mask everywhere in the hospital (except where he was doing interviews) and put it on. Which isn't too bad.

But he couldn't say that, so then all his apologists had to come out to say that actually, the king was wearing the finest clothes they'd ever seen.
It's more embarrassing that they don't just say they don't know as they were not there or actually get a definitive factual record. It's just very half arsed.

They know Johnson well enough that they've got used to making stuff up to cover his lies and stupidity with more lies and stupidity, and they are now unable to admit they've got no idea. It's just a reflex reaction now.

Apparently in singers the locals who aren’t vaccinated have to pay for their treatment if they end up in hospital with rona (they have near enough universal healthcare apparently)

If you haven't heard Singapore be abbreviated to singers you need to get out more.

I've never heard it either, even from people who file a lot of patent applications there, who lived there or who currently live there. I don't think it is quite as widespread as "UK", for example.

If you haven't heard Singapore be abbreviated to singers you need to get out in certain circles more.

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

I admit to the personal failing that I do not have conversations where Singapore gets mentioned often enough to have a nickname.

IF ya want to focus on the medium and not the message, go ahead.

I guess they were right when whoeever said the medium is the message.

The medium was obscuring the message, Rick.

  • I know a lot of people who live in Singapore and I've never heard it refered to as singers.

The only colloquialism I know from Singapore is "four floors of whores"
  • I think Singers is more used by people from Hongkers

I think anyone, and particularly anyone who does sport should think twice about limiting free universal healthcare when people can be seen to have contributed to their own injury/illness through action or inaction.

Heard of Singlish, but not singers. Have been there. Suspect it is used by the same people who talk of Argies.
  • At least the abbreviation saved two keystrokes of effort.

    Never heard Singapore called Singers.

I read it and wondered why it was only being applied to people who sing.

A friend of mine who grew up in Singapore in the expat community has never heard it called singers.

In other news, cases are increasingly rapidly in Germany and other European countries.

...and in my office it would seem.

Senior management who have been in the office getting it and being very coy about telling people (i.e. not telling people), so I have taken it upon myself to let everyone know who got it and when so they can make up their own mind.

In the meantime I'll be self isolating until I do a PCR test in 5 days. FFS.

Edit: might consider doing a lateral flow every time I wanna go out and do it that way.

Surely you mean germers? Or maybe germs would be more appropriate.
