In terms of overshoes, I'm using the Aldi winter overshoes from their recent cycling sale. There's a Kevlar-reinforced toe, a really sturdy zip, lots of reflective stuff - I'm happy with them. The only drawback is the ankle width - my ankles aren't exactly slender, but there's loads more space than I need. So there's a silicone gripper around the top of the obvershoes and a 1/4" gap between them and my ankles! Sorted with some elasticated reflective bands (which I'd wear in any event), but it stops a good overshoes being ideal. They use their cars as shopping baskets; they use their cars as overcoats.0

As you can see, he thinks it tastes 'orrible.
Can't get Factor 20 mouse flavour. Maybe IAMS cycling has a solution...seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

I am alive. But no syringing. My ear is, apparently, broken. And I have to wait for it to fix itself. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Infection or blockage? Had mine irrigated (flooded with some fluid) when it was feeling like that, seemed to do the trick.0 -

Both probably, but internal rather than external. So they refused irrigation today quite properly as, well, there's nothing in the canal to irrigate. It's just a pressure thing now, eventually what's behind the eardrum will move away from it and let it vibrate again. I'm about 40% back now so it's just weird stereo rather than no hearing. I'm keeping my sinuses and airway moist and mentholated to assist.

I feel your pain. I've had a blocked ear for the last 6 weeks now, I have a second attempt at syringing this Friday before more drastic measures are called for.0

Still think that should be "faithfully". Bender, you're a man of learning, what do you think?0

I wish my ear was blocked. Instead, it's "eeeeeeee" all the chuffing time.

Tinnitus or are you just well fast?seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
Tinnitus. Came on just under two years ago. It's mostly a constant "eeeeeeee" at a volume level of around 4 out of 10. It was only 2 out of 10 last year, so I'm not looking forward to next year. I'm hoping that it'll go away when I find a really good all-weather jacket to wear. They use their cars as shopping baskets; they use their cars as overcoats.0

I see. What a good idea.
I'm going to tell my OH that my back really hurts and it's because of my 'old' bike...
[On a more serious note; can't be much fun]seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
When I had tinnitus and hyperaccusis many years ago, they gave me a device like a hearing aid, except it played white noise continually. Told me to put it in for 4-6 hours a day - the idea being that my ear got accustomed to the level of background noise and turned down its sensitivity, thus sorting the problem. It did seem to have some success - either that or the problem just wore off by itself...0
-
Ive had it for years now, never been offered those hearing aid things always been a case of "lump it"0

Remember the Rapha brevet insulated jersey. Well, if you thought the back was airy, for another fiver you can add a back.
