  • I'm not sure I can see the angle but, in terms of the sipes, I just can't see that they do anything at all. So they may point one way but I'd ignore them. I followed the arrow anyway! :D

  • No - it's pretty subtle but I think it's there. I'm sure you're right about the sipes - probably marketing jazz!

There's not much in your back garden. How does it compare to the Cree Solar Storm or perhaps the Lezyne?

Anyway, how the heck are you, good Christmas?

    Happy Christmas all :D

The Lumos was very well received, and the quality of the finish surpasses any other brand (Mavic, Kask, Giro, Rudy project, Specialized, Bell, Lazer) I have ever handled.

The blue is a gorgeous colour in it's own right too, pleased I went for that one.

My only dissapointment, was that it only came with one charger, and with it being propieatary, that does concern me.

  • One? That's odd. I'd drop them another email on that score. Mine came with two and I didn't get the feeling I'd been singled out!

Yep agreed, I thought I saw that in your review, and another video review on youtube also came with two, so either they are trying to cut costs, or they just missed my box out with the packing.

I'll drop them a nice e-mail and see what they come back with.

Actually, looking at the pic on your blog:

There was no rucksack cover, only the one cable, and half the amount of rubber straps, oh and also critically no remote buttons either.

  • Has anyone tried the Hoy Vulpine Fortress jersey? £70 in the sale seems a good price for waterproof jersey and arm warmers, providing it's any good of course!

I have one, good fit, but not sure when to wear it!

I had exactly that on on Monday (except with a DHB softshell on top) :D

Is it light enough to wear on a wet summers ride or more a late autumn/early spring piece? Have you been able to test the wind and waterproofness?

I would only consider the 5x over the Fenix 3 that I have. The others are an obvious evolution over the 3 however, they are going to be much more expensive and only the sapphire models have wireless connectivity. The 5x is more of a revolution in that it has mapping, however, it appears bigger and potentially uncomfortable on the wrist - the 3 you can pretty much wear all the time. The 3 will also provide mapping - there is an app on IQ connect which allows you to do this; however, you do need bluetooth connection with a smartphone and data for roaming.
  • I'd have to rule out the 5x as its enormous. Mrs is fancying a 5s mind.

  • It's over in Wales. There is an ad hoc round this weekend but, sadly, my persistent flu/cough/hearing issues will put pay to that. Now suffering some rather annoying labyrynthitis issues.

Interesting, more Windtex dhb Aeron than Windtex Lusso/Mossa but good price.

I'd avoid the leopard print one probably.

Brand new shoes as well! Thinking of wrapping them up in a towel and bungling them in the washing machine.
  • Nasty. Medium wash, dry. Freezing might help.

If all else fails take off and nuke them from orbit.

Old Giro shoes used to smell like that without cat piss

Eeeek, make sure the OH is out before you do that. Can't you soak them in hydrochloric acid?

Seriously, wash then in a weak solution of vinegar and baking soda. You have to kill the bacteria in the urine. Don't use ammonia based products.
Do you get packs of dogs chasing you down the street?

Good call boys bach! I had though of freezing them and the missus had suggested vinegar.

We got the cat last week. Seller said it was male. Guess what...
