Booo. The kids would love them. Hours of fun and 10x better than TV.

Could go old school on them; pillowcase, string, brick and the nearest loch

Youngest son had some Adidas footy boots that smelled like cat pee without ever going near a cat. Some strange interaction with his foot microbes or the plastic was degrading and releasing something horrible.

Wash them thoroughly, dry them completely (airing cupboard for 2 days), bag them, stick them in the freezer for a week, then sprinkle liberally with bicarb.

    The shoes, not the kittens...

I did think the same, because I had the same issue as your son with, funnily enough, Adidas trainers. However, it only affects one shoe.

    Well, that's a relief.

I changed the formulation of a paint we were supplying to a bumper manufacturer in Swindon. It reacted with microbes in their water treatment and made most of Swindon smell of cat wee for a couple of weeks. The bugs metabolised the solvent and made felinine (which is what gives cat wee its smell).

I thought Swindon smelled of cat wee anyway?

Has anyone tried the Hoy Vulpine Fortress jersey? £70 in the sale seems a good price for waterproof jersey and arm warmers, providing it's any good of course!

I have one, good fit, but not sure when to wear it!

Is it light enough to wear on a wet summers ride or more a late autumn/early spring piece? Have you been able to test the wind and waterproofness?

Now £59 less 10% if you sign up for their news letter.... great review on road.cc - worth a punt, I will report back when delivered as I am sure the Scottish spring will be wet as usual

Slight crossover from the other thread.

Any reviews/feedback on the seemless base layer from Vulpine? Seems to be well priced at the moment.

Now seems like the right time of year to be shopping for some summer mitts (I say summer, I was using my current cheapies this time last week.) £15-30 at a stretch. I seem to get some numbness in my fingers when riding after awhile, so I'm thinking some decent padding might be a start?
Head swimming. Sportful Bodyfit/Grupetto Pro (same glove?) Galibier La Marmotte? Bontrager Race Gel? Vulpine Sportive? Or at the lightly padded end, Rapha Pro Team? Something else?

I'm not a bit mitt fan but used these last year and they were very nice.

Rapha Classics (not GT) would be a better choice than the Pros. More expensive though.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Castelli Arenberg Gel (£22.50 @ Sigma sport) and couple it with some Cinelli Gel Cork Handlebar tape. Very cheap at Halfrauds at the moment:

If your putting too much weight on the handlebars, it might be a set up issue.

Or try some gel pads/bar phat under the bar tape for even more padding:
