So what's happening to Nathan Earle, Danny Pate, Kanstantsin Siutsou and Chris Sutton? I guess Pate could be hanging up his wheels, but the rest?0

PCS listing riders out of contract. It makes for interesting reading. You could put together a real Dirty Dozen* team out of that list
*that's dirty in the film sense not drug sense0 -

My guess is Sutton will get picked up by Drapac. I'll tap up some Aussie contacts to find out. I think Pate's heading back to the U.S. - whether to retire, ride for a U.S. team, or just mess around on dirt tracks, I dunno. Kosta'a bit of a surprise - uber-strong diesel0 -

Nathan Earle was only ever because he was friends with Porte. Barely anything in the way of results, and he hasn't showed progression like Ian Boswell.
Chris Sutton has really tailed off too, to the point that he's struggling to finish most races. Remember when he won K-B-K? Seems a long time ago.0 -
Jussi Veikkanen is retiring after he rides the Tour de Vendée next weekend following which he will be joining the staff (as a DS?) at FDJ.0

MTN/Dimension have announced Deloitte as a new team sponsor. They're Cavendish's personal sponsor that he's bringing with him.

As I understand it there are 6 people part of the Cavendish package in the move to MTN-Qhubeka including soigneur, Renshaw and Eisel.“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

And a stage of the 2011 Vuelta
He had a back problem that started in 2012 (IIRC). Never been great since then.0 -

Tentative steps from asset management, investment and financial service companies like Deloitte and Aberdeen Asset Management into cycling; it will be interesting to see if that attracts other sponsors from that kind of sector. Could potentially be a good thing, if they're prepared to commit to longer term sponsorship. A secondary sponsorship of a cycling team must be a tiny outlay for them, but it does bring a lot to a team.
It also demonstrates the value of having a strong "brand" like MTN. It makes them so much more attractive to companies like that.0 -

I see the point of raising the profile and bringing in sponsors, but I hope there is still support for Tekle and developing talent.0 -
I'm surprised Kosta is going from Sky, probably shows how much they have moved on from the diesel train from the Wiggins days. I know they still go down that route but not as essential when Froome can attack, unlike Brad.
Does explain his riding yesterday, I thought he'd just been inspired by Kiry. Could he end up at MTN?0 -

Well, he and Kiry are both pretty similar as diesels, but Kiry is 1) better in the high mountains, 2) has the edge on the TT front, 3) is more consistent 4) scares the bejaysus out of the entire peloton when he gets on the front
Frankly if I were SDB, I'd be terrified at the idea of Kiry working for a rival team0 -
He's like a Sean Yates for the jet ageNapoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0

Always liked him as a rider. No flash but strong as an ox."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

He'll be 35 next season. Won't last much longer.0 -

As someone of a similar age, he's just coming into his prime0 -

Good news for Cavendish but I hope entourages and egos don't ruin what has been a great project0 -

Can't imagine the likes of EBH are thrilled, gone to MTN after seeing his career stall in the shadows at Sky, had a pretty good year, now likely to be back to playing 2nd fiddle...0 -

Has he reaaly done better after leaving SKY. Given he's gone from more of a team player to someone who is given the chace to win, I'm not so sure. Lot's of (not so near) misses.0 -

I don't think you can argue his career stalled at Sky. He won Gent Wevelgem and a hatful of stages at Eneco and ToB at High Road and then moved to Sky where we all found out he's not the Best Rider Since Merckx but he still managed 2 Tour de France stages, a couple of week long stage races and a decent amount of other races. He had a quiet 2014 (and looked terrible on the Eneco tour when I saw him at a stage start), but I think he just found his level."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

EDIT
EBH had a cracking 2011, a decent 2012, then it went downhill. I think it was a combo of unreasonably elevated expectations on the part of fans tbh, plus Sky making him into a right skinny minny on the Kerro regime which wasn't the best idea for him. But he's never going to storm the scene again.0 -

Yes MTN appear to have had anice cavalier approach to cycling. Cummings, EBH and Farrar seem to have re-emerged and it would be a shame just to see them back in harness pulling a sprint train.0
-
Cummings has mentioned in the past about the way sky work, if you conform to it, great, if not you won’t get any help or be put in a team for a stage race. He was always first reserve or thereabouts for minor races, and didn’t have a proper race diary set up for him, which I think is stupid.
EBH is someone that needs a bit of bulk, and he’s been fairly successful throughout, though has not really had a breakthrough year since 2011.0 -
Don't understand a few of the above remarks... Cavendish moving to MTN won't make them like Sky - quite the opposite. Now if they can recreate HTC... that's great for global cycling fans everywhere.0
-
Now if they can recreate HTC...
Won't they need a top class sprinter for that?0
