Road tubeless tyres, where and how much?

Hi, just a quick one, Two months ago I put in 30-40 ml of doc blue in each of my schwalbe one 23's and was wondering how long it will stay effective, I'm getting a bit paranoid on long rides in the middle of nowhere now, they have been great so far though.
Stans say replace after 2 to 6 months - the 2 months if it's really hot and arid. For the UK, I would think the 6 months is going to be more accurate!0 -

A stupid question, but what is the best way to replace the sealant? Just unseat the tyre and clean it out? Within the six months should I be topping up the sealant if I haven't had a puncture?

Only been running tubeless for 1 month, so I'm not sure either . I would guess take the tyre off, check it, reseat it.0 -
Anyone have any experience of the Schwalbe IronMan tubeless tyres? A local online store has them at a good price, but I've never heard of them before. I've been using Schwalbe One tubeless, which I really like, even if I'm lucky to get 3000 km from the rear tyre. Thanks0

Anyone found a web retailer in the UK (or maybe Europe) who is doing the IRC Roadlite Tubeless 25's yet?
I tried to get them from Amazon Japan, but they won't send them to the UK0 -

Whoop Whoop!
so the One Pro = the old One
the S-One = the Vittoria Open Pave
and the G -One = Challenge Strada Bianchi
for a brief summary! I hope my current ones hold out till the S-Ones are released for the winter
Edit - though I'm not sure if 30-622 will go on the bike actuallyWe're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

They can't even supply the demand with one tubeless tyre, how they are going to cope with a full range?left the forum March 20230

Maybe schwable will address the disparity in pricing between german retail sites and the U.K distributors. Maybe that hoping for too much. Still more tyre options are never a bad thing. Shame Continental think tubeless for the road is silly idea.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

I imagine that if Schwalbe can supply demand, and Conti see the take up, they won't be far behind.Giant Defy 2

They're a long way behind at present. It's going to take a while to catch up. Fortunately the market is still nascent so that's in their favour. But, also, what Ugo said......My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

To the people complaining about tight tyre/rim combos - My - admittedly quite worn now - schwlabe ones won't inflate on my wheels any more because I can't get them to seal...

Interesting - I don't need any tape so they re untaped
I eventually got it seated (very importatnt ot have the valce core at the BOTTOM) but it gets to 30 odd psi and holds but won't go above it. its actually leaking out of the base of the sidewall so I think there might be a tear there from something. As I said they ve done 3-4000km now so ithin i might just get a new rear tyre as the front seems fine...I ve found one cheap soWe're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

What rims?left the forum March 20230 -
Fulcrum Racing 3 - 2 way fit
They re up now though, just had to pump like a mo fo to get past 40 psi and they went up. There is no sealant in them now though and the stupid shimano valve core I got from the shop does nt have a removable core - seriously who would do that!!!
Possibly an obvious point but, if the worst happens make sure you put the valve stem somewhere safe and don't just chuck it somewhere in the shed when you get home - 10 EUR for a new one is a kick in the nads! We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

is there a particular method for unseating/removing Tubless tyres from the rim?
Considering taking mine off at some point to clean out the old sealant, and when they were initially installed/seated they were certainly VERY firmly attached to the rim - seeing as i didn't want to actually remove them i did not try very hard - but the impression i got was that they would be very difficult to remove (and iirc some methods risk damaging the tyre and/or rim bead)...
if it wasn't that i accidently used way to much fluid i would be inclind to leave it.
Hutchinson's say top up 10ml every couple of months using their fluid, am about 10 weeks in - but at some point i would like to take them off - perhaps to swap over to other wheels / try other TL brands...
.... so is there a 'nack' to removing tubless? has anyone had any success? seems it would require some brute force if their isn't a specific technique.0 -
Push the bead of the tyre into the centre of the rim, ON BOTH SIDES! Make sure that both beads are fully unhooked and into the centre of the rim. Then work both sides of the tyre up from the base so that you have all the slack at the top. It might take a few goes to get the slack up there. At the stage you'll probably be able to use your thumbs to get one bead over the edge, but if not just use levers, then the rest is as per usual. The trick is in the working the tyre up from the base. Because it's rarely necessary with standard clinchers people tend not to pay it enough mind
The sealant is water soluble so just use a kitchen sponger/scourer thing to get it all off - most of it will come off just with fingers. Make sure you do the inside of the rim too. It'll only take a minute. While you re there give the valve stem a once over too.
Getting them back on will be a challenge as the bead will have stretched, and they won't snap up onto the rim so easily. You may need a CO2 cartridge, Make sure you have the valve stem at the base when you do.We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence
