  • I've never gone as far as adding my details to the table, but seeing as this topic has been raised from the dead, I grabbed the virtual party poppers the other day when I went under 80Kg for the first time since possibly this time last year... Not by much, 79.9Kg, went as high as ~84Kg mid summer after ~2 months of lurgy from March and then a month or so of knee tendon issues of my own doing (increased saddle height a bit too much, didn't set up new 3-bolt cleat position well for my bow legs).

Trying to be more restrained on the snacks, while now doing more turbo exercise than I've done since things all went pear-shaped in March... Hoping to head back towards sub 75Kg over the coming months!

Hmm, not been so kind to me either. I guess not riding for months would do that. Still a long way from last years starting point though :)

Perhaps you could now go 1 week without food and put on 4lbs.

  • 76.9Kg for two successive mornings, first time the Salter scales have given a 10.1% fat reading for me for over a year. \o/

Generally but not consistantly eating less of my snacking vices, biggest change is more cycling time in the virtual world and much more frequent 100+ TSS days.

Over Xmas I put on a fair bit of weight simply through eating too much and not enough cycling. Ended up at 14st 6lb (91.6kg) which is the heaviest I have been in my 55 years.

So I have been cutting down since new year although no crash diet and not carb fee as I have done before.

A big part of the diet has been cutting out the snacking on sweets and cake at work and also I have been alcohol free since 1st January.

Now down to 13st 8lb (86.2kg) and body has got used to not snacking or boozing so still heading in the right direction.

2 weeks in Dubai I'm scared to even weigh myself, instead I'm going to drop some cash on more bike gadgets to make me seem/feel faster

I managed to gain 7lbs in a little over 2 weeks but get this. I've been home since Thursday and back on my 16/8 routine and I'm already halfway back to where i started, I can't remember the last time it was so easy to lose weight.

Goal weight for end of March is 168lbs then 162lbs by July

Now what should i do with those two leftover burgers in the fridge?

I should also add I've turned down the intensity dial on all my riding, strictly low HR zone 2 steady hour sessions and more walking, doubling my daily step count was easy in the sunshine, here not so much.

Three weeks of "working from home" and I am down to 69 kg, from 72, even 73 some days... of course no alcohol, no restaurants and no cafes help, but mostly I think it's staying away from tea breaks and biscuits and eating only home cooked meals.
Initially I thought maybe it's not a good thing to lose weight without any effort, but power on the bike is up and so is speed, so I must be doing something right... :)
