Wahey, that's more like it. I was down around 17 st 5 by the end of the week then had wife's birthday meal on Sat plus a few chocolates and cake during the weekend so was concerned that might have gone back up a lot this morning, but yesterday was pretty active and I curbed my greedier instincts so that seems to have done the trick. I'm not getting carried away as I know water weight is a big factor at my size - last week would have been at the upper end of my water fluctuations, this morning at the lower end. But still, very happy with that. 16 stone something is in sight...first time in a fair old while.

I've started something completely new to me, i'm reluctantly eating breakfast and having my one main meal at lunch time then either nothing or a very light snack when i get home from work, this is the start of week two and much to my surprise i'm not hungry in the evenings, eating breakfast is an alien concept to me and quite a struggle.

I'll weigh in on Friday but meanwhile i'm feeling less bloated and tired and healthier but best of all I managed Sat. intermediate club ride with relative ease for the first time since july '18. Mind you i'm sticking to a ridge gradual plan of zone 1, 2 and 3 rides in the week and not overextending myself on club rides by gunning up every hill.

I've discovered this last two weeks of intermittent fasting and turbo session I drink too much water for my efforts on the bike, I might be confusing tired with thirsty.

Still coming off, delayed weigh-in for a day as suspected a greedyish weekend would have seen some water weight piled back on. Seems to have done the trick! 16 stone something v close now, next week hopefully. Already feeling a lot of benefit from what I've lost so far, on Thurs went out for my first MTB night ride since last autumn, and despite being on the SSer, with summer tyres on, riding in all kinds of slop, and on a relatively hilly route (for the local area), didn't struggle much at all. Pleasing. Out with the fast group tonight, think I'll put some mud tyres on for that...

There's a big psychological element to thirst I find. I bring a bottle on my commute every day, and rarely have so much as a sip. But if I forget it (and realise I don't have it partway through the ride), suddenly it's as if I'm crossing the Sahara.

But what are the consequences of drinking too much? Does it have some adverse effect?

I've upped my cake intake recently, and have been carrying a heavy cold for a week, and somehow I have still managed to lose some weight.
Not convinced my weight next Sunday will be lower, but time will tell, think it might be a false downhill.......

Not grumbling though, just want to get shot of this effing cold, and sinus infection, feck*** awful

Anyone have any strategies\solutions, other than just blowing your nose every 10 seconds, and sleeping with 68 pillows under your head?

I've tried nasal spray, Actifed which is moderately helpful, though makes me drowsy, so can't use during the day.
Just ordered a humidifier today, and some eucalyptus oil, as allegedly that is meant to help.
Already tried the nose rinsing thing, ie where you use boiled (but cooled down!) water with some salt in, and that never seems to achieve much, at least not long term.

Other than literally dying by upsetting your electrolyte balance? Only more frequent visits to the toilet...

The pattern is now set - rapid weightloss from Mon-Thu each week, some weight goes back on Fri-Sun (less strict diet & less activity), previous week's weightloss consolidated by Tue morning before further weight loss. Should probably stop weighing myself every day  But against received wisdom, find it quite motivational.

Best advice I can give you is to stop this senseless weight loss crusade and get back to a healthy weight... your immune system will thank you.

Ah only just seen this - I am over the worst of it now thankfully, and back on the bike.

Deffo agree my immune system was a bit compromised, I think a cavalcade of illnesses from a small child does not help.
It's not some weird weight loss crusade though, I've always been light, and it's only in recent years that I had filled out beyond what I should be.
I'm half Mauritian, so perhaps that predisposes me to being lighter than the average.
At 74kg I was definitely heavier than idea, you can see it in pictures, fat face, paunch the works!
I think my ideal weight is around 65kg, which is still over 10 stone, but I'm happy to dip below that for the hill climb season if I can :-)
I'm down to around 66 currently, with not too much effort, and still too much cake, so with the summer coming up, and ample salad opportunities, I think it is eminently possible, and not an issue for my health.

    Hey all.

    I'm fat. It's official. 67.2 kg's.
Been off the bike for 12 weeks and had a replacement replacement hip (wore the other one out) in between. 6 weeks and 1 day ago.
    Tomorrow is D Day.

It's best if I don't update the table.
I think it's just sufficient to say I've been pigging out primarily due to stress, and not cycling enough.
Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

Join the club: torn ligament + crash into a dog + Mrs Haggis insisting ("If you truly loved me...") on wine & cheese for dinners has made my 70 kg quest look more daunting that farking Mont Ventoux. On a windy day.

What is D Day Pinno referring to - when you go back out on the bike?

@Wb - I know what you mean, I had been having a shockingly bad time at work since the beginning of the year, firstly system issues here, and then apalling management. Happily both of those situations are progressing in a positive direction, but 3 months of it is pretty intense, day in, day out - and comfort eating was something I turned to.

I'm fairly stable at my current weight, although this week, have made ap act with my gf to stop eating, or vastly cut back on eating cr@p, and so far managing to use willpower (Which has been sorely lacking) to achieve that.
Cream eggs, chocolate, cakes, shortbread etc have all been turned down.
And I've also been making sure I drink more water - again far easier in the summer, but I had been guilty of sometimes not drinking any water, outside of that within black coffee\smoothies etc.
Currently I am managing 3-4 pints (Of water!) a day.

I'm also joining my first organised group ride on Saturday run by my LBS (Have been meaning to for years), so am hoping that will motivate me to train harder, and also not indulge in crap.
I do find with the marginally better weather, it is easier for me to keep on the healthier side of eating.

I've also barely had any alcohol in recent weeks, and that has to help a fair bit.

Hoping for some losses come the weekend, we will see.

Yes, today. 6 weeks and 2 days after the op.
    15 minutes on the rollers.
I didn't dislocate it and i'm still alive.
Though I had to change the batteries on the scales. That didn't work either.

Luckily I am not suffering from any work related stress/problems but I am suffering from a serious case of cba syndrome.

Had a poor couple of weeks, not getting enough sleep & snacking late at night (my twin enemies of healthy weight) perhaps not helped by the clocks going forward which seems to affect me more as I get older and no doubt partly just a slight easing off after a very strict and successful couple of months. The good news is, I didn't really gain any weight, and I think now I'm through the other side of it and losing again - although it is Easter long weekend & my birthday all wrapped into one this weekend so no doubt a few choccy eggs will be scoffed. I don't drink any more so no worries on that front and should be no problem to get straight back to it afterwards.
