    Thought it was just a blip but I calibrated the weighing scales by jumping up and down on it lots.
    Maybe I'll be on track to be 67kg's by the end of April. If that's the case, I will push the boat out and try for 66kg's by end of July. If that doesn't work, i'll buy some different weighing scales.

    this has by far been my worst start to a year of cycling since i started, one cold after another terrible weather, snow ice rain winds and that is the only reason my MAMIL moobs are now boobs

  • Just a heads up to check your scales accuracy every once in a while, I've suspected our bathroom set were giving low figures for a while, last night I discovered ~77Kg on ours was ~82.5Kg on a new digital set. Which means last summer, when I decided to do try and do something about my weight, I must have been close to ~99Kg! :shock:

    Afternoon all, could I please be a latecomer to the party?

    I've been trying to shift some weight since early Jan, once we got rid (equals ate) all of the chocolate in the house.
    Since then I have been eating lots of fresh fruit and veg, and am getting addicted to trainerroad.

    Since completing a proper FTP, I have seen some proper losses (Now the effort level is correct) and am also trying to cut out cakes and chocolate altogether - there is the odd slip admittedly, but I'm utilising my willpower better than I would have imagined, and now seeing some actual results is motivating me to continue as I am.

    Getting a little bit of running in there as well, as I seem to recall that was better (more intense I guess for a shorter time) at shifting the tum.

    Finally got so fed up with recurrent knee problem I went to the docs. Amazingly got an appointment within 48 hours. Yet another new doctor, a rather attractive young lady. By that time the knee was perfectly fine, and despite her best efforts she couldn't make it click or make me squeal. So she initially tried to send me for self-referral physio, but I persuaded her that my symptoms were the same as I'd had in my right knee and which had been completely sorted by arthroscopic surgery. So she also agreed to refer me to a knee bloke. I made sure it was the same bloke who did the other one, and which has been fine ever since. He can see me on Thursday evening. Company medical insurance confirms they'll cover it. But not medication, apparently. They'll foot the bill for £15k worth of surgery and a private room with Sky TV, but not the inevitable painkillers or antibiotics which must cost just pence... What's that all about???

    Anyway, I'm hoping he'll agree to operate. He's an orthopaedic surgeon, he's hardly going to prescribe just painkillers and physio. It's like asking Kwik-Fit if you need new tyres. He's going to want to snip and trim and reshape and hoover. And I'm going to prescribe myself plenty of cycling as rehab :D

    So I may return to the weight loss thread once I'm able to ride again...

    @keef. Chin up mate. By the time you get really tubby, you'll be all fixed up and ready to go. If you get really fat, you'll be very motivated. What's the point worrying about a few grams which are impossible to shift? You may as well shed 3 stone, it's much more street cred.

    I've no idea how you get your details into that table/spready up there but I've been on a bit of a diet recently.

    I hit 14st or 89kg's about 6 weeks ago. I've been on a low carb diet since then and actually really got used to it now.

    My target was 13 st or 82 kg's which I hit a few weeks ago. But it's the new normal i.e. i don't long for carbs so I've carried on and this morning I'm 12st 12lb or 81.6kg

    Noticeable difference in power as it definitely dropped as my body got used to not having so many carbs but also a noticeable positive difference in climbing.
