That will make the scales lighter.

I have decided that this continued spell of cold weather requires one to have a bit more 'insulation' and perhaps a bit of padding (just in case) so i'll worry about loosing the odd 2kg's (someone will have to help me with the arithmetic) come spring.

My body appears to have taken that decision for me. Put a bit back on and now weight loss has flat-lined :(

Weather not helping; when I did get out on the bike I was going so slowly in some places it can't have been a very good workout. Hoping for a good blast once milder weather arrives at the weekend...

You do burn calories to keep warm. Last Thursday, 2 hours into a 3 hour ride, all the sweat got cold - I was frozen all over*. I managed to maintain a speed which must have been at the absolute limit of the Gyroscopic effect. I hate the cold. I only go out cycling in the cold to maintain continuity and hopefully have a good summer. If I had any choice I wouldn't but a good summer always follows a good winter (so the lying b4stards tell me) and stopping for any length of time is seriously detrimental.

*I have been moaning to Bender so perhaps he will have a solution which is not a barking idea to buy the Bonkers Bonka.

I weighed in at 75.1kg this morning ...... doesn't seem right to me, so not logging it .... if I see that number again next week, then I am calling it, but no one looses 1/2kg over night

Sure they do, I gain and lose half a kilo all the time within the same day/overnight.
Weigh often and just watch the trends.

I mean on top of there normal loss .... I was expecting to drop a few pounds and weigh in at 75.7 .... this extra 1/2kilo is on top of my normal loss ... its like I shat the bed or something extra

and now I am home from work and weigh in at 74.7  ..... I put this down to not going to the gym all week as I have been under the weather and my muscles deciding they dont need to hold on to the extra glycogen or something .... next week after a couple of days of heavy assed sh1t it'll bounce back up

Back on track after a week off. I fell off my bike on Monday, grazed and bruised legs have kept me from running any distances since. Hopefully I'll fit a ride in today, (once the DIY jobs list is done).

147kg - 117kg is 30kg not 40kg, so your more than 10% there. Expect to taper off and hit a plateau at some point when the weight doesn't want to go. Not sure what the best way to get past that point is, different people have different approaches.

It's a massive target, but you've made big progress. Keep it up!

Thanks. When I succeed (unfortunately have done this previously). I got off the bike in JOG 2.5 years ago and focussed on other stuff. And here we are, 30 or so kg (as I stand corrected!) later.

I ride several - all enormous - 62-64cm. So if you see a madone with hplusson on hope (you made them!) please shout.

Thanks. In the past (a previous 42kg loss) I got down to 92kg, but did look a bit ill. Measuring weight and inches made a difference - even in weight plateau size changes as you tone, so helps deal with psychological frustration.

Fortunately getting back on the bike is helping. Now if only I had a better fitting saddle!

Up by over 2kg's. I think you're giving first aspect a run for his money.
Not riding due to broken ribs isn't going to help either

  • I ride several - all enormous - 62-64cm. So if you see a madone with hplusson on hope (you made them!) please shout.

Found them... grey Archetype rims 32 H, red Hope hubs DT comp rear and DT revs front... you weren't 147 kg back in 2013 though... otherwise I would have been adamant on 36 H...

i need to get my shite together this year is not going well, apart from the weight gain i'm starting to slip off the back of club rides and not first over the top anymore. I struggled to finish this months climbing challenge, this is not good.

Feb is where I start pulling my socks up ....
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.

Still going strong, almost another kilo lost during last week. I am quite pleased with it as I am not really limiting myself at lunchtime, although I have a much healthier dinner now.

5 workouts a week on TrainerRoad have proven to be quite beneficial.

Weighed myself this morning... Up a kg from 92 to 93 but I'm fully laden with a litre of water and last nights chicken wraps...

Will post an empty weight tomorrow ;)
