    Bloody Nora.
Not going to record for the scales as really disappointed.
I've had a cough & sore throat for 3 weeks now, with 2 of those being at voice loss territory so I've been on the lockets, strepsils or own brand plus benylin quite regularly.
Having just totted up how many cough sweets and fructose based medicines I've been on, with the reduced cycling capability, it is a LOT of excess calories.

Cough Medicine is basically pure sugar supporting 1% or less of medication.

i should be really happy that the bib shorts i tried on today were medium and if anything a little loose but then again I have a practically new pair of Rapha classic bibs and three merino large jerseys thats a hell of a lot of money on kit i cant wear.

I agree. My Castelli kit in L is still fine, but Rapha L is wrinkly everywhere and really unsightly. Could end up being an expensive undertaking.

Must of been the day of conservation work. Can't wait for the longer evenings to get the green gym going as well, although I'm not sure I like the missuses plan of removing a 10'x8' concrete shed base!

Yes, that's a good way of thinking about it. Problem is all the beer I'd need to be drinking to keep myself hydrated while I do it ;)

Seriously peed off with this whole undertaking!

400+ km week 16PRs on strava, 3 pints only in 7 days, and stuck to diet so no unhealthy food; put on two frikkin kilos.

    Wow, that's harsh!

Following a recommendation from a health checkup at work a week ago, I've realised that despite typically eating really healthy food, I've got the proportions of carbs to protein wrong. Might be worth checking out? Although I'm sure with that level of effort I'm sure you've reviewed/balanced ins & outs before?

I tend to find the normal exercise days are the ones where I lose a bit rather than the ones where I'm making an effort.
Saturday was a long slow run, 22 miles. By the time I'd had a decent breakfast, few gels while running, something straight after getting back, then lunch, then a decent dinner (was a dinner out to be fair, so couple of glasses of wine) I'd polished off 4200 calories for the day. Run would have been about 2000 calories so I'm not going to be putting much on either, but the priority was fuelling rather than starving myself :D

That makes sense - and at least I don't have the knowledge that it was all down to lack of will-power; not sure if that helps to be honest

From this morning onwards I am gonna continue sticking to the plan - but also keeping strict food diary; it really does help and now I need effort just to get back to start line!

No cycling. No PRs. 5 pints on Thursday. Stuck to a diet of unhealthy food (I can't walk past an easter egg without eating one). Lost 2 kilos.

    Go figure.

Just done easter shopping and lots of chocolate involved - I am hoping that I can follow your lead; although I am certain I will put on again.

Will be switching to longer commute through your part of the world (I think) from Easter onwards - give me a wave as you sail past on Woodford New Road etc; I will be the one struggling along on the white Whyte hybrid
