i'm 10lbs heavier than my lightest this year of 161lbs (Mallorca 312) I think i'd need to lose a leg to get much lighter than that.

it didnt help that the Alps chalet i stayed last week provided excellent breakfasts and three course dinners everyday.

    :?

I've been flogging myself to death in Aug & Sept finally make inroads back down to my target weight but i doubt i'll be able to get much lighter this year.

I wasn't involved at the beginning - but re-started cycling after winter rest (caused by nasty off in the autumn) in February - mass on Feb 9 was 89.1 kg, yesterday was 76.3kg. My target was 77.5kg
  • Weighed myself this morning.

    Not good.

    116kg (18 stone 3lbs).

I'm off to have a serious word with myself.

Registering myself on here before xmas at 127 kg.
With a 16 to 20 mile round route commute, and halving my 705's expected 1400 calories ( if only) leads me to a pound off a week. I did keep that rate up to start, but have started the afternoon snacks again :(
Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

  • Been "lurking" on here for a while, thought i'd join the weight loss table as a way of continued motivation. Cycled(commuted) a fair bit bout 3 to 4 years ago, then lost all motivation and piled all weight I'd lost back on, topped out at 18.5 st ! Gave myself a good kick up the ar$e and have shifted 4.5 over last 4 months - want 1 more.

PS not really sure how to cipy table etc.., so apologies if I cocked it up

    1500 cals a day

    for 4 months?

that really doesn't sound healthy or sustainable.

  • 1500 average, been as high as 3000 and as low as 500 on fast days (trying to do 1 fast day every fortnight).

Haven't been really hungry at any stage so far, and as soon as I shift another 1/2 stone, i will be increasing my cals to average 1800 to 2000 per day.

But the 1500 average is all good clean food, no processed - lots fruit veg fish chicken , and lots of water, but low on carbs and absolutely no added sugar

I'm not advocating this as something people should do, but its worked for me - I now need to learn control so I build the calories up, increase exercise a bit more so I continue to drop weight until I hit my target.

Remember I started with a BMI of nearly 40, and even now have just dropped out of the obese category and into the overweight (not that I'm really concerned about bmi as it doesn't really take account of frame etc..)

I should point out I'm 5ft 8 so even at nearly 14st I'm not exactly skinny ! and to be honest don't want to be a greyhound, just not a greyhound bus !

your body needs* about 1800 calories a day just to survive. you have been a fair bit under this for over 1/3 of a year. I would suggest upping it now rather than weighting (sic) for another half a stone. you will still lose weight and will make leveling out easier.

*I know everyone is different and this is just a guide/estimate.

  • I lost 2kg/4.5lbs last week!

Ate really sensibly in the week, counting everything, but just ate sensibly over the weekend, not didn't have time to record everything in 'My Fitness Pal'.

    I'm happy with that.

getting back to my lightest 162lbs would be ideal, i've been around 165-168 all year until now, 172 :(
