I love mine. Shame it's in parts waiting for the framesaver to dry...0
-
How far North and East are you?
From my experience, I've actually got faster on the Equilbrium than I was on my previous aluminium framed and racier bike. This is despite the Equilibrium being a little heavier (probably due to mudguards and 25mm tyres).
I think it's beacuse it is so much more comfortable, I can concentrate on pushing that bit harder0 -
I'm in Teesside to be more exact. What's kept me from buying up to now is the preference for the kit of the 20 but the colour of the 10.0
-
I tried one out earlier in the week. The guy in the shop said there'd be three new colours coming for 2013 year (from July): Blue, green and red-orange. Plus the Ti one.0
-
Well I'll wait and see what the green or blue one looks like.0
-
Check this out!
For anyone interested in good deal for complete bike in cherry red.
Size 54 only in stock though.

Funnily enough I'm originally from Teeside (grew up in Yarm), but no plans to visit the family any day soon.
I'd wait to see what the 2013 colours are too. I did something similar this time last year and was gutted when I discovered there was no change to the frameset colour. I reckon they'll change the decals too as they're beginning to look a little dated now.0 -
Thought I would add some pictures of my bike.

Very nice Fossala! It would look lovely with a nice, Italian groupset
You should post it on the Genesis Facebook page. They were just showing off an 853 prototype Equilibrium frame there last week that looked rather retro and I think would look great with your leather tape/Brookes saddle combo.0 -
I don't use facebook, but you are welcome to post it on my behalf.
I am so tempted to by the ti version coming out soon.0 -
Very nice indeed.
I've never really been a fan of the brooks (except the swift) saddle, but the tan saddle/tape combo, silver bits and black frame look absolute class together.
I think I'll post mine to give an alternative look at an Equilibrium custom build.0 -
I got a code for 45% off. Thought I would give it a go. I found I loved them so I thought I would update the finishing kit too match.0

Always fancied one of these to replace my ancient commuter, and just seen one advertised in my neck of the woods. Looks like it has a brooks saddle and Campagnolo Athena kit - is that how it usually comes? Are those Fulcrum racing wheels? If they are, is that a logical match for the bike? Anything strike you as odd about this bike or ad? Are there mounts for a rack on one of these?
ThanksNobody told me we had a communication problem0 -

Nice bike, but sounds dodgy to me. Whoever built it up clearly knows about bikes, yet the person selling it sounds rather naive. Fulcrum wheels and a Campagnolo groupset are far from standard.0 -
Fulcrum wheels and a Campagnolo groupset are far from standard.
What do you mean? What "standard" are you on about? Obviously they are different to wat comes on the standard bike, but thats obviously going to be the case cos its a custom build!
The only dodgy thing I'd say is the price!
An Athena groupset aint cheap, it looks like its decked out with Pro finishing kit aswell. a Good £1.5k build for that price sounds to good to be true.0 -
I certainly wouldn't sell mine for £600, and it isn't brand new and unused, other than that the spec's fairly similar though.- Genesis Equilibrium Athena

Looks like we might be seeing the '13 Genesis Equilibriums out in the next few days. Genesis have started revealing their range on their FB page and we've so far seen an alloy road bike named the Volant.0

Oh and just to add, theyre also starting a road team up, using bikes with a Reynolds 953 frame! Should be a very interesting concept....0

Looking forward to seeing that bike!0 -
I would get the 953 if they released over a ti.0
-
To me it reads as though it will be a completely new design? Be interesting if it's a stainless steel balls out race bike! I imagine it's going to be expensive (for a Genesis) as well.0

Frame and fork are from a 00.
105 gruppo
Mavic Open Pros + 105 hubs (36 spokes in front and rear make true sumo wheels)
I first tried the RS10 wheels but bent them before long. When it comes to the 00 steel fork, all I can say is that it works. It may not be the lightest of forks but I feel confident with it even during 70kmh descents and it's super comfortable on century rides despite the 23mm tyres. Maybe acceleration and climbing would improve along with a carbon one... If Genesis ever decides to offer their carbon forks in blue, I'm sure to buy one just out of curiosity.0 -
Adebisi, it looks great. Really like the blue colour, they should have swapped it with the red....0

Nice bike mate!
If ever you want to go carbon, the Deda Black Rain I use is pretty cheap at Ribble.0 -
Do you know what the rake and axle to crown measurement is on the Deda fork Jonny?0

No idea mate. I just presented my old Fratello and my Equilibrium frame to the bike mechanic and asked him to build it up.0
