Coupla laps. Nothing special but good to get the legs going as I didn't ride this weekend. Not really sure how to work out how quick each lap was (did 2) but think 1 just under 20 and one just over.
Felt like I was flying up sawyers, barely made it down broomfield as it was so windy!

Campag gloves are amazing. Pretty much windproof and toasty!

Ahh, May 25, 2012. Epic tailwind that day. I reckon it'd give a free 39 seconds to any effort.
Oh, would you look at that, my best is currently 4.11.

3 Laps this eve. 2 ACW and 1 CW. Lovely long slog from Roehampton to Broomfield with a tailwind. The 2mm lower stem has oddly mades the drops more comfy for longer stretches when pedalling hard.
Shared half a lap with a guy in high viz craft top and high viz overshoes on an Arte Decor Colnago.
PR up Broomfield top half which was nice.

    Few TTers out.

Pooled round for the first time yesterday. It was slow and the "hills" are the worse inclines I have cycled up. The wind was also just silly- I actually got blown sideways (whole bike moved to the right!) and my bike weighs 13kg and had another 85kg weighing to down too!
    RIP commute...

    Anybody out tonight?
  • I'm planning on going to RP tonight for a lap or two ... or three.

I've never done three laps of RP before.
Why? Because I'm guaranteed a seat all the way in.

I was out last night but doing 5 min threshold intervals between Robin Hood gate and Sawyers. The wind was pretty good when heading up Sawyers but the return interval was much slower, even with the down hill.

I've got a tempo workout to do tonight so I'll probably be in the park for some laps, aiming for around 20 min laps. You're more than welcome to join me if you like.

I'd be in but "working from someone elses home" tomorrow so taking the bike up that way for a weekend of Beds/Cambs miles, and a Spring Saddle outing on Sunday.

The St Bernard puppies, hot tub, good food and countryside conspired against me, honest.

Yep, have read about this, but the chances of me doing it in under 60 mins are remote.

JG, I was thinking of starting a Nightingale Lane challenge thread... up for it?!!! :P

    You're quicker than me, surely?

  • Who me? Err, probably not! I've never done one lap of RP in sub 20 mins as yet, not sure if that was through lack of trying, lack of fitness, or cars! Considering I live right next to RP, I don't go in there very often!

Good time. I should be able to do it in under 1hr 10, but not feeling too great at the moment... does it matter which way I go round?!!

Not really. Most people reckon ACW is quicker - easier to turn left at the roundabouts!

I'd agree with that. I did ACW for the first time on Tuesday, leisurely pace with Edds. It felt much easier (excluding the headwind coming down Sawyers!). Hmmm, decisions, decisions!

Not many sub-1hrs so far. I may just build up the Cannondale (its still hasn't seen the light of day since Alpe D'Huez  ) and see if I can't ride over at the weekend and have a crack.

Well, you did it in March, where it's been nice 20 degree weather all month. I did mine in Feb, freezing temperatures, air as thick as soup. Nice soup that is, probably Waitrose or something from a fancy market, and not watery like Miso.

Sorry, where was I. Ah yeah, I need to MTFU and lose 30 seconds a lap. That should be doable. Will report back when it's done
