I want a Masi now, does anyone in the UK stock them though!

Yes to the Masi, it's gorgeous, but no to the Viners. Single speed bikes MUST have thin tubes. Otherwise they just look like LiT's Gollum bike (RIP) and no-one wants that.

I've looked at those Viner ones time and time again... they just won't take panniers!

I asked Condor if they did the tempo in other colours... and the man said 'yes, of course, any of our bikes can have a custom paint job.'

    'It's £100 more and a 20 week wait.'

    20 WEEKS? 20 WEEKS?

Who do they think they are with that timeframe? Viner made me a whole bl**dy bike in eight, and it came from Italy!

    FFS. Unimpressed.

£60 or so at Armourtex. Although you will have to strip the frame yourself.

There's a new powder coating fella advertising over on LFGSS - £50.

*rummages through endless "po po" & "arrospok" threads*

Wait, just spotted that it has forward dropouts... why?

I'm kind of in a 'screw you Condor with your overpriced stuff and fancy bikes' mood about this...

And thanks for the powder coating links... :)

EDIT: added more condor bile... overpriced sods... helmet £150 in shop, £102.99 on Wiggle, under £100 elsewhere... grrr.

Yeah, it all seems very quiet. I'd like to get my Touche repainted but cannot be arsed to strip the frame down.

I love the colour of my new Soma. Just waiting for some red tyres to arrive to finish it off, then i'll get some pics up.

Mmm the Soma Delancy looks a good frame, but hate the name and a colour. How ghey does delancey sound...

Mine's the Soma Rush, and it's a sparkly red (not the same red they are doing in the latest version)

EDIT: It used to belong to Hippy from LFGSS if you remember him selling one.

The Touche doesn't have rack mounts, does it?

The Touche doesn't have rack mounts, does it?

    Yes it does:
It’s key features are the aluminium smooth weld frame with integrated carbon forks and full mudguard clearance.

The bike will take up to 28mm tyres and also features rack and bottle bosses.
The frame geometry has been carefully designed, employing relaxed angles, a
long wheelbase and a raised bottom bracket. For safety there is no toe overlap.
It is finished in either metallic blue or metallic charcoal with stainless steel rear
    facing drop outs.

Ridiculous, isn't it? £90 in store, £64 on Wiggle (who I'm sure aren't the cheapest but I needed guaranteed quick delivery) for the one I wanted.

Another question, since I'm here - can I replace my Paul finger brake lever with a lever that's a cross/interruptor brake lever? Cos I want something longer and slenderer and the cross levers seem the ideal style.

    :lol::lol:

I AM having panniers. There's no point trying on that one.

If I can't find something I like with rack mounts, I'll use p-clips. You have been warned.

I'm thinking of getting a pretty red chain which will man up to the winter weather... suggestions?

I quite liek the Fixie Inc peacemaker, but for the white and the tyre clearance. And the distinct lack of rack mounts...

Well, I MAY have stopped in at Brixton Bikes on my way over to the Academy...

The very nice man I spoke to basically gave me a good talking to and said the Bowery frame is a good frame, and what I should do is replace the forks, and the whole drivetrain and the P-Clips that are (barely) holding my pannier rack on.

Apparently, my chain is so far gone it's eating my new(ish) freewheel

I still think the Bowery's a bit big for me though - I'm going to get the tape measure out and compare it with the Maxima...

    I quite like this:

    Without the stoopid bars, obv.

EDIT: Also, what's the deal with these SE LAger bikes? Way to saturate the market...
