Interesting... but what's going on with those mounts sticking out the front of the forks? Are they for brakes or something?0 -
LiT - if you're lusting after dolan's they do more road orientated bikes - google italian solutions..."I get paid to make other people suffer on my wheel, how good is that"
--Jens Voight0 -
I heard Pompinos are heavy and have problems with rust - true?0

cantilever brake mounts, same thing on the back.0 -

Ewwww.
I want to be able to straight swap everything from the bowery onto whatever I end up getting, basically...
What do people think of this0 -
Ooooooooooooooh
Look:
How would people feel about my putting panniers on that? Hmmmmm?0 -
Don't you want a lovely lightweight thin-tubed steel beauty? Like, er, what I've got?0

Even if you could get them on, you're likely to be heeling them every turn of the pedals. That frame looks like it's got a very tight back end (yes i said it)0 -
Oooh this thread has taken an interesting turn! I was saying to ITB on Monday night that I'm in the market for a new SS bike. Love the Pearson but I want something with a little more presence. Any suggestions? Must be drilled for brakes though.
LiT - you defo need a new bike. Also WTFU and lose the panniers.- 2023 Vielo V+1

Yeah, I had that problem with my first fixie... got round it by having the rack at a very odd angle...
It's not a particularly great frame to commute on... :shock:0 -
no way will LiT give up the panniers !!! she has all kinds of crazy stuff in there..
it's funny that she knows she needs something relatively sensible but keeps having her head turned by the shiney shiney
I reckon a pompino frame with a different fork is the answer, take the brake bosses off job done, or the dolan, which comes in colours other than blue I recall.."I get paid to make other people suffer on my wheel, how good is that"

Well if you want reliable and light get a Touche. It'll take guards etc and you know how friendly the fellas at Pearson are...
Dammit I want a Cartouche.- 2023 Vielo V+1

Story of my life, that is. I've only just managed to get a sensible car.
I'm not so keen on the pompino...
But you're right about the panniers, no way are they going. I like them too much, and enjoy having a fully functional spine.
The Touché is a possible - I just don't like blue but they seem to have introduced a gunmetal option.
And I agree the Cartouche is lovely, but I don't think carbon stays + panniers = great plan. Also, I'd need all the spacers in the world...0 -
Can I post here now...

.. finished it today to the point where I could test ride it, still need to do a little tinkering.
First ride was interesting, I thought I kept the crank going around all the time on the GT, short trip down the road told me different.
Now I just need to sort out what colour bar tape to go for.0 -
My dolan is a dream to ride and not to mention also almost a race winning bike
do it do it do it.......

Nice though - good tall head tube and rack mounts. I wonder if they do it in other colours...0 -
I believe Condor have reopened their other side, so they should have plenty of bling to drool over.0

took the mills out for a proper ride yesterday, I'm super precious with it but it handles like a dream even if I'm scared it's going to fall apart as I put it together
set up is there and I seem to be able to handle only having a front break ok.Purveyor of sonic doom
Very Hairy Roadie - FCN 4

Beared Bromptonite - FCN 140 -
I saw the tempo which looked absolutely spot on for LiT except it's general blueness.
Quite a nice blue though isn't it? And I like the white blocks on the seat and chain stays. Although if you are going to put white patches on an urban commuter bike it is far from obvious that the chain stays are the best place to put them :roll:0 -
Mind you, a £1600 fixie frame (percorso) is pretty much bananas isnt it? Every bike thief in London would be on your trail.0

ahhhhh quick before the pedant police get me - its not it's0

I'm thinking of getting a Roadrat as my winter bike.
