Did the 8.2 mile lap yesterday in 39 minuets with a hangover.
Unfortunatly, unlike race day, I had a 2 day rest gap.

Gooooooooooooooooo HD. Cut down the gap to 90 minutes or so and it'll be great [:D]
I'm gradually getting faster on mine too. Not great, but only 8/14 hour gaps...

One day I'll do the run, then wait around then go again and post rather dissapointing times for you to poke fun at.

Where is the loop? Might pop over some weekend/week night if you're not too busy and have a go with you. Assuming you don't mind!

Then, once the gap between laps is down to that, start riding double laps - no Gap! [:D]

J21 M62, basicaly its from my house up to hollingworth lake, round it twice and back home.
Most of its on the road but at the moment I'm just trying to get <s>a little fitter</s> fit.

2 or 3 junctions up the m62 for me then. Would like to see how I'd fare on the coiler - even if it is mostly on road some of it must be off [:)]

Only the part round the lake which is hardly challenging, just a flat fire track.

A lot of the course at D2D was this type of trail. Granted not that challenging for the 1st few laps, but in the middle of the night, when it's dark and your tired, just staying on the bike is a challenge. [:D]
Oh and at this stage, you should be building up your stamina, not just your speed.

Which is what I'm attempting to do, might throw in another loop of the lake after the next one.

A phonecall this morning leaves with a couple of spare hours tomorrow afternoon, 3 or 4 laps I think might be in order.

Meh! Due to various family and work commitments this week, I haven't been out on the bike (yet) may have to do a couple of hours in the dark tomorrow evening. [:(]

Update:
I now (due to the extreme weather conditions) don't have to stay at work late tonight, so may get a ride in. Now, all I need to do is pursuade Mrs C to drop me 30 miles down wind in the car, so I can race her home....

Training update:
Did 45 mins on the turbo last night, interval training. Weather was not ideal at all. Interval isn't really that useful for this kind of event, but at least it was some form of riding.

Sunday's Training Report:
Distance: 13.2 Miles
Time: 1hr 2 mins 50 secs
Average speed: 12.5mph
Max speed: 26.1mph
Average HR: 172bpm
Max HR: 193bpm
Calories Burnt: 944
2.5 mins faster than last week, which isn't too bad considering the strong headwind, the underwater trails, and the sea crashing over some of the coastal trail.
[:D]

I just went out on the coiler. Not exactly a training run, but two hours of constant hillage was probably good for me.

I'll be getting a new steed for my 30th (june 21st) but will consider keeping the heckler for this race.

Decided what you're getting?
And heckler is a fine machine for this type of thing I reckon!
