Right, I hope theres an inappropiate bike category. a bike is sorted but its not really suitable for XC (again) but it should be comfy (i hope). Though if its as flat as D2D I tihnk it'll be fine.

I'm very very tempted to be honest.
I'm not sure I can do a big hit justice, though I'll have fun trying.
considering the spec for what im paying it's very nice but can i make it go up? (i admit I will mainly be riding it at Kinver and Stile Cop probably)

Well... The next time I see you, I'll lend you the Coiler and we can strap me to your back.
If you can still climb (bet you can) then the big hit'll be fine.

Hmm, there is a link to the Bontrager 24/12 on the MBUK main page. This is taking place a month before SITS. Anyone up for doing both, using 24/12 as a bit of a training event? [:D]

Training Update:
Distance: 5.3 Miles
Time: 26 Mins 05 Seconds
On the Coiler, with completely destroyed bottom bracket. [:D]
I'm going to do a few weeks worth of training on the Coiler as it's heavy and the rear sus soakes up some of the pedal movement, then switch back to the XTC and see what (if any) improvement there is.

Commuter training update:
Well it would seem that my commute to work is 8.84 miles, yet the same ride home is only 8.24. Personally, I think the house moved whilst I was at work.
Currently 'spinning' 40X17 to work and 40X16 home, just to get a bit more suppleness into my legs before I start cranking the 52.
The complete workout of 74 mins is worth 1152 calories, so the weight should start to drop off me now (assuming I can stay away from the cake).
[:D]

What kind of elevation difference is it? Or how else would you measure the hilliness? Hillatuity? Hillosity?

Well, that's another thing, apparently, I ended up 133ft higher up by the end of the day! Once again, I think the house is moving.
The Garmin GPS measures elevation, I'll do a screen dump of the graph later from home with full and complete details etc. TBH, it's not that hilly, I ride around the coast, so it's reasonably flat. [:D]

Mine's allegedly 7.5 miles accordign to the AA website, but I go a slightly different way that's slightly longer. I need an online map that shows elevation to work it out! Mine's rather hilly.

I'm yet to find any good 'free' on-line mapping that can do elevation. I'll let you know if I find anything. PM me the post code of where you work (I have your home address) and I'll see if one of the programms that will supposedly upload to my Garmin will work it out.

Right, here is the download from my GPS for Wednesday's ride:
Gradient
(Although I'm a tad concerned that the world dropped a few feet in the middle of the day!)
Heart Rate Notice the Uber-exertion on the way home!
Speed A bit stop start through the traffic!
All 3 Overlay of all activities.
Thursday was a bit of a problem as this is what happens if you don't actually turn off the GPS whilst you're in the office!
[:D]

They're quite cool. I'd love one of those but can't justify the money!
Did an extra 5 miles or so on the way home tonight. My legs are a little tired. Still wanna know the gradient!
Oh, I found out multimap has contour lines on if you zoom out, but I still can't work it out.
