Maiming for the win!

Managed to cut about 5 minutes off my ride home (woooo, including two unscheduled stops to play with mp3 player/swap light batteries) and have lost about a kilo since last weighing.

It's getting much better. That first big climb was, erm, pretty much on par with part of my commute! Bit smoother maybe...

Was just behind you and yer lad on the first one too. Neaaaaaaaaaarly.

Let down by unfortunate mech problems on a couple of the uphill bits of the black section.

I'm still in, and Im chainging from having a laugh to semi-competitive.

Training has already commenced. Would help if I had a decent commuter bike though as riding the full 17miles each way on wha ti currently commute on is just a stupid notion.

I've only managed 250 or so miles since the new year, weight is coming off slowly, still not up to full 'speed' yet, but building up on the endurance. It's still early days folks, just get out there and ride as much as possible! [:D]

Training loop this afternoon me thinks. I'm not sure if I'll nail the 39 minuets yet but the legs are feeling firm from the skiing.

I've still not cracked the hour for the commute yet - just over 17 miles in total. The closest I've come so far is 1:05, but I'm influenced by the traffic and traffic lights too much to make a real push at it, but that's the next 'speed' target. Will be doing 40 miles or so on Sunday (on the road, but riding the XTC) to build up the stamina a bit.

I also have several million other things to do, so squeezing in training whenever I can is a bonus. TBH the monday ride will be a proper ride, not an training run.
