As mentioned by the owner of the bike “ Just a couple of minutes to take on and off ….” so maybe he does just that, install them when it’s wet, remove when it ain’t. It’s his bike so your personal preference for style over real life practicality hopefully falls on deaf ears.

Real life practicality or utterly fully clubbie boring?

You want sensible buy an anorak.

Its June, near as dammit. Take them off.

Sorry - are you all saying now that you should have mudguards on your bicycles all year round?

    Two bikes.
One for dry, one for wet. Regardless of the calendar.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

So now you're saying a) you should only ride a bicycle if its dry and b) you're only sllowed two bicycles?

What happrns to the "dry" bicycle if it gets wet?

It will melt. I surprised you don’t know that, a man with your cycling experience.

Exactly - that's what I would which is why I thought it would be madness to only have 2 bikes.

Mudguards, only two bikes - next thing you know people will say you have to ride with other people and wear matching clothes.

Two bikes minimum. Your choice if you want more.
Or, have only one and a wet 'arris. Again, your choice.

Why would anyone only have one bike?

    Stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Fascinating though it is to see the depths some of these threads plunge to I've decided not to get a Spitfire.
A few outings on my 500g lighter carbon framed bike tell me I wouldn't gain much so bye bye thread.

Yip, titanium is great and this is a tremendous frame with or without mudguards, slammed or with a chimney of spacers. For those who are swithering, PX now have a 15% off everything Jubilee coupon PLATINUM15. Do it, do it now!

But but but but 500gms lighter plastic bike!!!!!!!!

Think - if you changed your tyres and saddle you could well make tgat difference up but it wouldn't be a plastic bike!

Don't underestimate the importance of incompletely combusted cotton underpants to the material properties of the plastic.
