    Filippo Zana to BEX

I was hoping he would go to Ineos.

I want them to sign someone with the surname Hayt, so they can have a team of Hayters Ganna Hayt.
You could have Hayters Ganna Hart :D

Relegation threatened EF Education have acquired Cepeda (246 points) and Piccolo (300 points) from Drone Hopper, effective immediately. Howes and Morton have moved aside.

So you can buy points to avoid relegation? What a stupid system.

Correct, only points scored from now on count for the new team. Top best ten points scorers count per team, so new riders would likely need to be scoring 150+ UCI points to have any impact. Can't see Cepeda or Piccolo contributing that in the last three months of the season.

Ah okay thanks. Read like that in Rich's post.
Well, maybe they get to flog themselves on every stage in the Vuelta for points for EF?!

It read like that because I was wrong about the points going with the rider

Aren't they in the relegation zone?

Did I miss something? Velonews saying Carapaz and Amador already signed for EF. I haven’t seen it reported anywhere else.

It's been widely rumoured, but nothing official

That’s what I thought but Velonews saying it’s official. Very odd

Stybar doesn't have a team for next season yet, no renewal at Quickstep. Will be riding more cross this winter, as he's only had 40 race days this year.

That's a good hire, though he's slightly the poor man's Benoot.

He's won a lot more than Benoot. Like ten times as much. He's not really proven his worth as a luxury domestique, in the way Benoot has at JV, mainly because Lotto can't afford to use him as such.

Saw on twitter, Benoot has had a nasty crash today. Not life threatening but irksome in lots of ways apparently

So do you think he’ll make a better domestique?

No idea. He's an odd signing. UAE have quite a few riders who are similar, i.e. Hirschi, Ulissi, Costa (although he's off), but presumably they've given him an outline of the role they foresee for him and he's liked what they are proposing.

  • Did I just imagine I saw an Instagram post saying Cav has signed to BORA? It’s vanished now.
  • Now starting to doubt my sanity.

That's what I deleted; I saw it on twitter but it was a spoof account!
  • The b4stards! At least I’m not loosing it (much).
  • Großshartner to UAE (although I'm mostly posting in delight at having worked out how to do the ß on my phone)

Cav was hanging out with the Williams brothers from Legion of Los Angeles at the Commonwealth Games. Means nothing, but I would certainly love to see him join them for 2-3 years after his WT career has actually ended and ride the crit circuit.
Is also a Specialized team. 😁

Don't know which team works at WT level while still staying with Specialized. Total Energies are a huge downgrade. Bora is probably more focused on GC with some breakaway efforts to appease their German roleurs. QS seems focused more on Jakobsen even though his Tour was pretty awful.
Maybe EF & Cannondale or Israel & Factor?
