Lopez attacks 12km to go and the last minute of Pacher's gap evaporates. O'Connor and Elissonde in pursuit, but I think he's on a different level.

    Ta.

From the moment Lopez went it was all over. Mas making it back to Astana Rodriguez once the others had worn themselves out was quite impressive. Enjoyed the commentator saying that O'Connor's only objective for the day seemed to be to drop Cristian Rodriguez.

O'Connor can't quite believe Rodriguez sprinted against him for 4th.

And it didn't take much lip reading to work out what he thought.

Sam Bennett is out of the Belgium Tour which starts tomorrow. He's replaced by Cavendish. Maybe, just maybe....

Cavendish got dropped, Evenepoel and Campenaerts bridging across to the lead group shortly afterwards.

Evenepoel currently out front and slowly destroying a small group - hot weather and Remco combining to produce a series of trackstands as riders suddenly cramp up behind him.

Kind of amusing, although Evenpoel's insistence on doing all the work might cost him here.

    Narrator: It did.

Jose Been on commentary: The one thing we know for sure now is Evenepoel will win the stage. There is nothing the other two can do against this amazing talent.

Allegedly there will be live coverage of the last 50kms of the Route de L'Occitanie, here:

    https://racecenter.laroutedoccitanie.fr/live/

From today, around 1-30pm I would guess.

When was that? She was saying all through the last 5km that he shouldn't do all the work, because the other two aren't to be underestimated. I think so anyway, I keep drifting off when she's speaking.

Pogacar dominating in his home tour. Winning the stage by 1:22 and taking the lead. UAE giving him really good support. Mohoric seems to have fully recovered from his Giro crash, opened a small gap on the chasing group on a wet and very technical descent before UAE pulled him back, he then won the sprint for second .

James Shaw managed to take 6th in the same time as Mohoric in the small chase group of mainly World Tour riders. He should really be riding at a higher level.

Nicer watch than Switzerland for the bit I saw. Tight, twisty and steep climb and descent through wooded mountains.

UAE dominated that stage, but failed to get the 1-2 with Ulissi.

L'Occitanie has finally turned up here, with about 30kms to go.

A bit earlier. A couple of k before. She did tone it down later.

Some disappointment has been expressed over no visit to the big mountains in Slovenian.
However, I have to say that they have come up with an interesting alternative along the lines of the Vuelta, but maybe even tougher.

The UCI seem to be getting stick for this but I can see their point - the bars themselves are fine until you use them as they are clearly designed to be used

They’re getting stick for it because the commissaries had previously passed them for use, and in several races.

In commentary it was said that the team had asked the race commissioners whether they would be legal and they were given the green light. To DQ him now seems a little odd and completely in keeping with the UCI.

Yes the bars don't break any rules - it's the rider that did.

Catching up with Slovenia - is it just me that has never seen anything from Trentin to justify working for him in a sprint?

I say never - he's won Paris Tours hasn't he - he just never seems to deliver in recent years.

Cor that was one tough Slovenian climb.
    The finish resembled a triage.
An excellent ride by James Shaw, finish 5th just behind the big boys.
