The more I think about it the more I can’t see a situation where hospitals don’t run out of road.

I don’t think it will cope with so many people simultaneously ill.

Feel absolutely rough. Wonder why the flu vax never has this effect.

I wondered the same thing. I felt terrible for several days, after my booster too.
I was told that a lot more folks have been reporting side effects after number 3 jab, than after 1 and 2.

Me too, for about a day really.

    But it beats the alternative.

656.7K booster doses administered yesterday - numbers are ramping up

Everyone who gets a booster would have been OK for the covid pass without it.

I think people are getting boosted mostly because there's a nasty virus about.
I suspect that's also the reason people are cancelling stuff

Lockdown but without the treasury being on the hook.

Went out for a drink tonight (suspect it’ll be the last time for a while) and I cycle past a lot of restaurants and they were all almost empty.

My reaction has been more similar to my first jab than my second. Wondering if it's due to the booster being a different type of vaccine.

Achy arm, but otherwise fine. Had Pfizer rather than Moderna for the booster. Had no reaction at all to my second dose either, so I hope it's working 😕.

The people I know who have had Moderna all had quite strong reactions. I had 2xAZ + Pfizer.

Croydon Centrale was admirably efficient for dishing out boosters.

  • I was really rough with my 1st AZ jab but had no bother with the booster I had 2 days ago.

Moderna has the best efficacy vs omicron.

How is this going to end up in anything other than another lockdown?

The maths just doesn't stack up to either that or people dying whilst waiting to get into over-full hospitals.

Moderna has the best efficacy vs omicron.

It is marginal. More about the data available at the time than anything else.

Third jab reactions are likely proportionate to the strength and speed of the immune response.

Trying to flatten the curve I suppose.

But they already have community circulation so they can't be more than a few days behind.

Bit of a pointless crowd pleaser.

Anecdotally, moderna has generated more side effects than any of the other jabs > a brother in law was in bed for 3 days after it (though he is also a massive pansy).

First two were AZ and felt fine with those.

In my circles the worst side effects seem to have been from youngish people getting the AZ one.

I'll get to experience the moderna on the 22nd, don't fancy three days in bed over Christmas though!

Yup, and totally screwed my Christmas planning. Oh well, aim for February half term instead.

Government spokesman Gabriel Attal says this morning the prime minister’s office will make “in the next few hours” announcements regarding travellers from the UK.

Attal says travellers from the UK will have to show a PCR/antigen test less than 24 hours old (as opposed to 48 hours until now).

Only French citizens returning from the UK, or British people living in France, will be allowed to come to France.

Travellers will have to give a compelling reason to be allowed to enter the country. People arriving from the UK will have to isolate at a location they choose, their isolation will end after 48 hours if they show a negative test.

    Yeah sorry to hear that.

January is going to be really grim again. Last January was definitely a low point for me. Here's hoping a working wrist will make it less miserable this time around.

That's because young people are complete snowflakes, on the whole.

3 days in bed. Viable alternative to work?

My arm really hurts this time. Maybe I got unlucky with the nurse. Is it a myth that arm soreness is down to the skill of the jabber? What do they do differently?

2 x AZ + Pfizer for me. Zero effects. Set a PB the day after the booster.
    Are they doing placebos? 🤣
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.
