    What's with the avatar?

    I noticed that too.

Is he pretending to be you Bally? Or are you pretending to be him?

  • Might I suggest that we have found our very own equivalent of "The Twit of Twitter" - you know the guy, pasty orange with small hands and wispy hair who has managed to inveigle his way into that big white building on the other side of the pond....

I've used Merlin for quite a few orders over the years and they've been nothing but fully professional throughout. My most recent Merlin order was for a waterproof cycling jacket. I have older versions of the same jacket but the new one didn't fit despite being the same size as the old ones I already have. I'd also converted some loyalty points as part payment for the order. I sent the item back following Merlin's instructions. They refunded the money on the card 2 days after I posted the item (using normal 2nd class royal mail since buyer has to cover returns which I do not mind at all). A day later I got the loyalty points back too. Did not have to chase for any updates or start a thread on a forum!

Bungle clearly doesn't quite understand the full process or is very impatient and feels overly entitled like so many other misguided generation snowflakes (although if the "73" in the name is anything to go by then it could be something entirely different - wisdom with age not always true then). That or Bungle got confused thinking Merlin might have some magical attributes whereby they don't need to take payment once a consumer places an order. Cancellations take time to process with online orders and are very time dependent as to when you are doing the ordering especially when dealing with cancellations. The accusatory, inflammatory and relatively obtuse attitude on the forum simply fueled the backlash which seems deserved in this instance.

I should work for Merlin, since I appear to have stolen your Avatar! (Joking apart, hadn't realised), will change it to something less plagiarised. Maybe ill pick an avatar from another kids show, maybe Rainbows Zippy PS Merlin are a top company who have no doubt not replied just to save Bungles shame, they are that good and honest!

Although guess we better double check, ShimanoBottomBracket do you have difficulty making your mind up when considering a purchase, f*** the order up, blame the shop, and then act like a complete moron on a bike forum?

I see Bungle73 was active at midnight. Have a look at his other thread where he asks if he is a special case. http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtop ... #p20196836
The Wife complained for months about the empty pot of bike oil on the hall stand; so I replaced it with a full one.

I especially like the bit where the first reply was me saying an old block and a new chain weren't a good mix and it took 4 pages for Bungle to agree.

Don't really understand the initial problem. Customer makes a Bellox and the blames the company for finishing work at 4.30 on a Friday.
Customer then bad mouths a good company.
Don't get how Merlin are to blame.

    They aren't to blame.

That's the whole point of the thread.

  • I placed an order with Merlin yesterday and the rotten buggers have charged my card because they shipped it same day and I have it in my hand now (not paying for next day delivery either)

Didn't have time to change my mind and cancel it, never mind post a rant here.

Generally no to all but one of those. With regards to the other one, I get drunk and where I act like a moron could be anywhere from a web forum to a sporting event (well done Scotland!).

Because when people say bad things about certain stuff, I tend to think "no smoke without fire". For this reason, finding a good ISP is tricky. The odd negative opinion is neither here nor there, but try researching internet providers and its like fishing in an ocean of shit.

Maybe in this case the OP is a muppet. From what I have read since my last post is that his viewpoint isnt very agreeable.

But I'm not looking for an internet provider and neither was Bungle. He was after some inner tubes and handlebar tape.

Nothing at all to do with internet providers.

I've found that people are stupid so I'll ignore the bottom few reviews and the top few and the most accurate reflection of anything lies in the middle.

But basically you are just ignoring the reviews then and only selecting what you want to read.
