Is it possible that Bungle doesn’t exist but is a very clever marketing ploy by Merlin? It’s working!
Hmm, strokes chin, interesting angle. Mind you, have to award kudos to the marketeers to have the foresight to register an id in 2015 and keep it in deep cover to be used 2+ years later.

Like a Russian sleeper agent but only bicycle related and not as clever.

    Cool.

And why would anyone want to shop at a retailer who treats their customers with such contempt that they slag their them off for daring to cancel an order? Such a retailer does not deserve to be in business.
I think this might be the best post on the entire thread. I must have missed where Merlin came on here to moan about the OP.

I should imagine they’re too busy running off to the Seychelles with all the “stolen” money they keep taking from their customers.

You mean your shop was closed over Christmas???
My god man, what a disgrace! Shops aren't allowed to have opening and closing times, they should be open 24/7... Bungle have a word will ya
This make me laugh so loudly that the guy who was doing an electrical inspection this morning looked over at me like I was going mad.

I'm feeling slightly ashamed and guilty now, and suggest we lock this thread. We've all made our point, as has Bungle, nothing to be gained by any further pillorying.

    Don't feel guilty.
And Bungle has reminded me of fond memories of so long ago... Steve Wright in the Afternoon & Mr Angry.

The thread title alone of your link is interwebz gold

I think that might be the final straw for me at the RailUK forums

I'm LOVING the Choo Choo puns on that other thread. So many pages to read....
  • Well I ordered a winter jersey from merlin around last October, paid the extra for next day delivery but it took 2 days to arrive. I emailed merlin saying I wasn't happy and they refunded me the £4.95 the next day.
A few weeks before Christmas I ordered a windproof winter jacket, it came the next day and I wore it on the next Sunday, as I was taking it off I noticed a hole where the sleeve had not been machined to the cuff properly, I emailed merlin who asked me to return it for inspection. It cost me £7.99 to return it but the next day merlin emailed me to say the jacket was faulty and they were dispatching a new one in the afternoon. They refunded my postage costs and a new jacket duly arrived the next day. Don't know why this bloke is kicking up such a fuss.

If anyone from Merlin is reading this thread, how keen will they be on answering the phone at 08.30 tomorrow morning, knowing that there is every chance it will be some total bell end who messed up their order?

I'm sure the OP will be back to give us an update. God, I hope so.

    Because he’s webbo.

Not Webboo though. Don’t get the two confused.

If I was Merlin I’d tell all their telephone operators to not answer the ‘phones until 8:32 just to annoy webbo bloke.

    Quite the opposite.
The thread must remain open so that Bungle can come back and inform us of the outcome. After all it is only fair to Merlin to keep the thread open until Bungle comes back to tell everyone how Merlin rectified his c0ck ups.

I want to hear what's said tomorrow. Don't feel bad for Bungle, he's the one that started the thread.
  • I expect they have been laughing at this all weekend. they'll take their time posting the stuff out, telling him to send the goods back before they can refund.

Merlin aren't open tomorrow. They are all in the Caribbean, spending their ill gotten gains.

Perhaps they could answer in a faux Bombay pidgin English accent, claiming to be a call centre and pretend to get his name wrong, making him endlessly repeat himself to no avail and then still not understand.

A bit of fun and teasing is one thing, but this is bullying. Unnecessary and becoming unpleasant. Mob behaviour, pitchfork, Piggy and Lord of the Flies. Bungle needs support and advice, not destroying.
  • I've googled

"I think that might be the final straw for me at the BikeRadar forums"

but nothing relevant comes up, so it's looking hopeful for a Bungle update.

Oi, Proto.... you are not a numbaaah!

He has been given plenty of support and advice but chose to ignore it and abuse anyone that gave advise he didn't like.
