    GVA and Benoot away.....

GvA barely holding onto Benoot's wheel during that attack. Grimacing like a mad man.

Made a big gap quickly, and not because the chasers weren't trying to close the gap.

It'll be between those two. Benoot looks stronger.

    Now it is sorted.
QS have a man up there.
Only GVA, Benoot and Moscon likely to make any effort.

I have a feeling that Pedersen will mug the others.

So, Lampaert poaches consecutive wins as Quick Step's disastrous classics campaign continues. :P

Arguably more impressed by Valverde, even though I knew he'd be good.

    Good lad.

But can someone have a word with him about the length of his shorts.
Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

It was brilliant. Somehow made it look like he was swinging across trying to get someone else to lead, then realised he had a small gap and just disappeared.

Perfect move from Yves. That will go into the junior coaches playbook!!

Nevermind about Valverde. Will Benoot win Flanders?

He needs it to be a real slijtage wedstrijd and nowadays that happens once a decade at best.

Van Aert smacks into a roadside photographer and ends up in a ditch.
it was a race marshall , stopped to warn the rider about the bollards in the road . http://www.cyclingweekly.com/news/lates ... ren-374730

cracking, this is for me the best time of the year with the best races.

Quick step Peerless in this type of racing and Valverde wow a proper racers racer.

To be fair, he'd usually just ride through a CX bollard....

A horse mascot and a pile of horse crap trophy. Look at his little face. Other than bed with no dinner, there’s not much more a chap could want after racing all day in the p1ssing rain.

Half way though last night’s Sporza extra time koers which is an hour of pundits and riders sitting around a table chatting pro cycling.

Guests are van der Poel, Boonen and Lefevre.

    Few t!tbits.

    1) Lampaert didn’t bonk in E3 he was just pooped.

    2) Everyone around the table bar the journalists feel that when the flag drops its racing and there’s way too much hanging around waiting for crashes etc. Boonen looks quite incredulous at the suggestion otherwise and says plainly “we’re pros. If you have bad luck, tough”. He also blames the commentators for making it an issue.

    3) Lefevre doesn’t even blink when he makes it clear Terpstra follows team orders.

    4) QS still don’t have a sponsor, believe it or not,

    5) Boonen feels “had Nibali and Valverde turned their attention to cobbled one dayers sooner we would have all had serious competition”

    6) Lampaert is so West Flanders he needs subtitles for Flemish people let alone the Dutch.

Oh and Boonen makes a point that a lot of riders will be struggling to get those top form sensations because of the bad weather.

He also says that you feel a wet MSR in your body for the rest of the classics season. Big debate around how to prepare - do you go back to warmer climes to train or do you try to adjust? Conclusion; no one really knows.
