I reckon so. He's 36, hasn't had a podium for 5 years there and hasn't actually won anything on cobbles since Harelbeke in 09 and Omloop Het Nieuwsblad in 07. Got a top ten last year, but....meh. Not like the rest of the Wilier team look likely to set the race on fire either. Their biggest headlines the last few years have been positives in the very negative sense.

Not sure what the thinking is of moving Dwars door Vlaanderen to the Wednesday before RvV - as discussed on the Cycling Podcast - especially given the clash with 3 Days of De Panne?

AFAIK 3 days de panne is not owned by 'Flanders classics' whereas DdV and RvV both are.
I think the firm wants control of as much of the build up as they can.

Initially, I would expect both races are going to suffer a drop in quality on the startline.
De Panne up against it in the long term.
Not good.

I imagine that Flanders Classics would be looking to put De Panne under financial pressure with a view to buying it.

Mareczko (got that wrong didn't I). bit too good for pro conti, and possibly good enough for world tour is really their only star nowadays. makes caleb ewan and cav look like wind breaks when sprinting.
Way to go, UCI.
Kill off established races that have a lot of public interest. Promote races in places where there is zero interest.
Shakes head in disbelief.

Absolutely brilliant isn't it
Pozzato was 8th last year at Flanders (first non WT rider), but may well have been his last hurrah.
Could have carried a full glass of water on his back. Just wasn't moving apart from his legs and going forward chuffing fast.

As expected, lack of big team interest cited.

It's silly stuff. But no need for the outrage.
