Interesting. I've often said they need to sign a proven winner to get some wins on the board, although I'm not sure I had an up and coming sprinter like McLay in mind. He's clearly got talent though, so hopefully will get the support he needs to do well there.

Not sure when this was made public, but Betancur has signed up for two more years at Movistar.

    Chapeau!
It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

  • So that's Dan Martin, Nibs and Donkey Face in the one team. That's not going to go down well.

    Yes, super domestic for Bidet?

Nibali is at Bahrain not UAE.

Not a big name move, but Ondrej Cink who had a solid debut season on the road for Bahrain-Merida after joining from a MTB background, has quit and gone back to MTB racing.

Moscon has renewed with Sky, which is probably more important than any new signing to them.

  • Cofidis boots Sanquer and replaces him as GM with Vasseur

Classic old fashioned cycling move, that. Vasseur has FA management experience but used to be a pro, so hey

He might not be riding next year if anything comes of the Reichenbach case. The mans a fool and they're seems to be be out to get him. Very talented but a liability.

Nothing is going to come out of the Reichenbach case. There's clearly no video footage of it so all that is left to go on is Reichenbach's view against Moscon's. Both will almost certainly have other riders who back their version of events, so the UCI won't be able to do much, if anything.

Is he a liability? He's young and learning the ropes so hopefully he'll mature and understand that he's best to keep his thoughts to himself.

In a few years he'll probably face criticism for being bland in interviews.

BMC reducing their roster from 28 to 24 due to the new team size rules. I wonder if the people who pushed for this considered that fewer riders employed would be a side effect?

Rather bland than a rascist who deliberatley makes other riders crash!
Who knows if he was responsible; but i did think it was odd that he said he was no where near but still seemed to have seen exactly how the crash occured.......

"Nowhere near" is relative though. If a footballer dives for a penalty, the defend will say he was nowhere near him

It's OK going back and looking how a crash occured, but Moscon said he saw his hand slip off the bars and that caused him to crash. I just don't see where he'd have been to see someones hands on the bars, but I wasn't there. When you start to get a reputation people stop believing you.

I've never been involved in a crash in a race where I didn't hear at least three versions of what actually happened.

Sky have signed Italian neo-pro Leonardo 'no relation' Basso. He's 23, was a stagliere at Trek in 2015 and seems to have no results of note, so I assume he's Moscon's mate (they rode for Italy u23 together).

It does indeed sound a bit leftfield. Maybe they think Moscon needs a bit of a calming influence.
