    Rolland to direct Energie, presumably.

Actually, Ag2r probably need a cheap rider to do the giro now Pozzo has gone. Might be a good fit there?

Sky also confirm the signing of Pavel Sivakov, who has dominated in the u23 ranks this year, riding for BMC's development team.

Anybody else worried about all the young talent going to Murdoch?

He will probably only really be happy when all the other sponsors depart the sport leaving only his team to win all the races...

It's not healthy, but being successful as an u23 rider is by no means a guarantee of that success continuing in the pro ranks, so it's not a given that all three of the riders they have signed will be successful.

One of the justified criticisms of Sky over the years is their inability to develop young talent. There are not many riders who've joined Sky as a neo-pro and risen successfully through the ranks to a team leadership role.
  • Danny van Poppel leaves Sky for a 2 year stretch with Lotto Jumbo.

So far Sky have lost Landa, Nieve, Kennaugh, Boswell, Van Poppel, Viviani (and Rowe). That's an A grade GT team with little to replace it short term.

That's good for the sport though no, some people go on about them dominating, using their big budget etc, so maybe this will stir things up a bit, and level the playing field a touch - all be it in the short term.

Does this mean they are basically Sprinterless with Van P popping off?

I understand Landa leaving for his big moment but why are the other leads either leaving in droves or being pushed out?

They know that Froome is THE man for a few years yet, and they're persisting in pushing Thomas as a GT leader. If I had designs on being given a shot at winning races, I'd be looking elsewhere too.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Yes I think that makes a lot of sense, Froome probably has some 3-5 years towards the top of the sport, and I guess if these youngsters are coming in now, they will be in a good position to embed themselves within the team, and potentially take over that GC contender spot a little way down the road.

Landa clearly believes he can win a GT, the Giro didn't work out for him this year, but he feels his chances are going to be far and few between, so hihs motivation seems clear to me.
