It's important for a company like Canyon to keep their wait times high, they thrive on hype around their name and so people will wait 8 months to part with thousands of pounds because it's exclusive.

The day when you can get a bike ordered and delivered within a week will be the day when Canyon is no longer attractive to those kind of buyers and they will be just another brand.

Much of their stuff, at the moment, is in stock.

You contact them and send it back. Ditto Merlin, Wiggle, CRC, etc.....

Fortunately I've already owned one and it was brilliant. So happy in the knowledge this will fit, it's all good.

So you could end up bike less until they fix it. I think I'd rather go down to the LBS, get it sorted and be back on the road again. Still each to his own.

My LBS has some Treks. Which do you recommend ;)

Whatever you like, why ask me?

Because it misses the point that your local bike shop may not have what you want. There's not a bad choice here, but there's not much outside the big three of Trek, Specialized and Cannondale. My less local bike shops are a little better. But all of them may require time to work on a bike leaving you without it.

At the end of the day, there's a risk with all mail order, it's only greater with Canyon because it's 'abroad.' But they're pretty good in relation to repairs and warranty work etc.

:D I'll be away when it's delivered, so it will be a nice present when I get home (it is going to work, thankfully)

I am starting to get really cross with Canyon. I have been trying to get hold of them now for a while, the phone number for their UK office when phoned gives you a recorded message saying "Our phone lines are closed due to staff training". Their website chat is permanantly unavailable, saying "all our staff are engaged in other chats". I have used their email system before and they are super slow to respond. This is not the experience I wanted.

Just to counter the negativity, I've bought 2 Endurace's in the last month (upgraded from a SL to a SLX once the later went on sale) and the process has been swift and painless in both cases. The SL took 12 days to arrive, the SLX only 7. My only comment is that there seems to be a gap between the "Your order is being processed and dispatch is between X and Y dates" and then the sudden email of "Your bike has been shipped". The two events don't appear to be linked so the communication isn't as seamless as you might expect.

The SL has gone back in exchange for the SLX so I'll see what their returns service and refund speed is like too.

Ordered the Endurace CF SLX 8.0 Di2 last Thursday...can't wait! Encouraged by the timeframes you mentioned too.

Loving mine in Kerosene Red, I had it in time for the Etape. I think I might need a fit though as my bum was pretty numb after 6 hours, let alone the other 2 and 3/4! With £900 off, its a bargain.
