just tell yourself that EVERYBODY has a nightmare with BB30 creaking.

Thought I had the dreaded Cannondale BB30 creak last week but it was just some grit in there.
All sorted by Big on Bikes as ever, can't recommend them enough.

Look fine, they're chainring bolt and they`re steel !
I paid same price for 5 from Mercian (which surprised me !) and even though I wanted black I think the silver looks really good against the black particularly with my silver grey frame.

There are other bikes about but not many I've fancied since I got my SS last September.
Some nice deals on De Rosa Kings about but silly money still compared to what I paid for my SS.
A new Issac Proton Flyweight sold on Ebay tonight for £555 !
They retail at over £3k, thank god it was a 54 and not a 52 or I could have been ain a whole lot of trouble with the wife if it'd beeen arriving here in a few days.
Always loved Isaacs (had a few)
Hope it gets posted on Your Road Bikes.

  • It is an amazing bike, no doubt about it. I have spent all winter on a GT Grade with 30mm tubeless @ 50psi. Got the on Six last week on 23mm tubeless at 85psi and honestly was expecting to feel bounced and hammered around but it doesn't feel the road anymore than the GT. But feels like it just wants you to push it on. Spent the winter in the saddle as if I had forgotten about out the saddle but suddenly I am up and out a lot plus attacking corners and darting around in traffic. Great fun, just need to turn the music up to ignore the squeaking (brand new) PF30. Got to take it back the LBS who fitted it last week..

Mine's ready for the Velothon now. Shame my BOR's didn't come in time but I don't reckon I'd have risked fitting them. (Going down to compact so will need to drop the front mech).

90 miles today on it. Fresh as a daisy. No issues with either the Tumble or Caerphilly (Cat 4) on 36/28 but will still chop it down to compact when the chainrings arrive.

Short 70km ride today after a bike fit. I feel so much better on the bike now, it is unbelievable! Just need to change the handlebar for a 42cm one. I ordered a superleggera from Ribble - the black version. Any idea if both the black and polish on black have internal routing? I might have to ask them to change the order if only the polish on black has internal routing.

Amazed how few Sixes there were at the Velothon (counted 2 only). But the Synapse seems to be half the field!

Synapse, Roubaix, Defy - the go to bike for many a bike shop and rightly so.

Interesting that I migrated from my Evo to a Synapse after I concluded that the bike were a tad too big. But, the Synapse is a lovely machine. Not got the verve or absolute urgency of the Evo, but I did a solid 60 miler on it last week and one of those rides where you just ride as its so smooth and capable. I cannot recall parts of the ride at all, which I suppose is testament to the bike. The key difference is the evo is like a dog let of a leash and would no doubt be a strava smashing machine and whilst the evo was smooth for a race bike, the Synapse will allow the rider to mile munch and recover very very quickly.

I ride a synapse currently and i love the bike. But, ultimately, a SuperSix was the first bike i lusted after. So the plan is to have one of each! n+1 and all that!

I have a six hm and a synapse. The synapse is my long distance mile muncher and I love it for the comfort but you can't beat the urgency of the 6. It makes you just want to go fast.

I was riding with (slower) mates yesterday and didn't want to abandon them. Until the Tumble which I wanted to do quickly. Later, after the second feed, I thought screw it and would wait for them at top of Caerphilly. I wasn't passed by many, if any, people in probably 15 miles. Head down, head on, constant big ring. Six just goes.

The Quattro are good as well but I reckon something more carbony and lighter is going to transform it to even higher planes.

My BOR's have arrived. I am super excited to fit them. But this also involves dropping the front mech. It should be a 15 minute job. Should be.

Did you get some steel chainring bolts for them ?
Looking forward to seeing these after all this time !
I'll check back in 15 mins for a pic

It's on. It's beautiful. And, as expected, I moved the mech, tried to reindex it and it's all gone to shit. I hate, and I mean hate, Shimano front mechs. It will also need a chain link taken out. So I'm not taking pics, I am in a mood. I am having a beer and, for once, will take the bike into the shop to get it sorted.

It is lush mind........ (still need to get some bolts).

I don't mind SRAM. At least they only have a few clicks. Seems impossible to get enough hold of the Shimano ones to get enough tension, hence the barrel adjuster. Have messed that up as well. Going to have a sulk now.

    Yep spot on mate.
Saddle would look better all in black.
Any chance of a few pics of the stem as I`d considered one of them, not as grey looking as they are on Ribbles website.
    Cheers

Prob right about the saddle. Was hoping to find the one and since it's excellent I'll stick with the model. And get the black one. Will do for now. May even trade up to the Ti one. Will do a pic of the stem later.

Noooo;you want the carbon elite one

Did 100 miles on mine Sunday(Boudicca sportive in Naarf***k) and probably the most comfy I've been on a 100 miler.

    That's looking rather good though.

  • I was going to say - the only thing off about your bike is the mismatching green on the saddle.

That colour way is simply awesome.

It will get swapped out. Was difficult to match as I bought it in the hope that it would. Still, I sit on it most of the time :D

Quite happy with the shape though now.
