Nice review BTR but you summed it up when you said "...these won't light the way..." so it looks like i'm going for the Cree lights as an upgrade for my current set up.

This looks epic
Agreed, have been looking at that myself. Wonder down to what temp it is good for.
It's interesting. The Winter Jersey has a windproof front only but, of course, is thicker merino. This should work very similarly. Indeed, it's virtually a merino Rapha pro team in same ways. I reckon, because of the arms, it could be good down to some very low temps indeed.
Well I got the joke.0 -
Back to HH base layers, went out to see if they had any freezes and no. But they did have the new Warm Flow. Not in zipped. But got the crew of this for £25

Just wanted to echo Bender's glowing review of the RedWhite The BIB shorts. I've been a satisfied user of Assos since the 1980s but these are even better, in my view, and certainly a bit cheaper. The insert is really comfortable, thick but not intrusive, and the stretchy nylon-based lycra and good cut mean these shorts fit me like a second skin. The microdot silicone leg grippers are ultra-secure and prevent any risk of bunching in the crotch area. I've done a couple of 60-mile-plus rides in these shorts and was simply unaware of them.
On sizing, they are very slightly tighter than Assos. I take a medium in both Assos and RedWhite and I'm 5ft 10in, 33in waist and 68kg. Leg length is average - I have long legs and they come half way down my thigh.
Of course, what suits one person may not suit another. But they are well worth considering for anyone looking at higher end bibshorts. The downside is that the price has recently gone up to £115 at Always Riding. I intend to buy another pair.0 -

Just size guide checked - about 3 X's too small due to height.
Thanks anyway!Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

It's bloody massive on me. I need a medium! I'll measure it later if you like. I'd imagine it being good for 44-48 or so. In terms of height, it's not short! My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

If you could get the proper measurements that'd be appreciated - I've just had a massive strop with Aldi's cycling stuff this year, they appear to have removed circa 1 to 2 inches across the shoulders from their XL sizing from last year, so nothing fits me this year when last year everything was spot on, despite still being a little loose now across the chest,Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

There's a FB page, https://www.facebook.com/roubaixcycling1/ probably better for that sort of thing. I'll try and do that a bit more often. I tend to do it with stuff I've reviewed, did it with a lot of Chapeau stuff in the summer.

Having just measured up, that's huge from neck to front hem, makes you wonder what their sizing recs are based on (big bellies?)
What do you mean pit to pit - arm pit to arm pit? 23 inches is huges.
What's its arm length and across shoulders?
It's likely too big, which I don't think I have ever said before!Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

It's from the top of the front part of the neck down to the front waist hem. Across the pit is 23 inches (arm pit) but that's with a bit of stretching out. It's probably more like 45 inches all round. I'd have to measure the rest. It's clingy so it's not actually all that big in real life. I'm 40 and it's baggy ish on me.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

My chest is 42" and it (M) fits me just fine. The bit around the middle - well, lets face it, how many MAMILS don't have a paunch?
I have longish body and shortish legs but the length is fine.
