Funnily enough, I'm reading his book at the moment about him training and living as a pro for a year to try and win the journalist Worlds.
I may swear off all cycling media for the next few days as its obvious that a lot of people enjoy getting outraged about Sky in a way they don't over anyone else"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Top 6 threads in the asylum are related to you know who. It's been the most entertaining 24 hours I can remember. Hilarious....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0

There's a journalist worlds?? Sounds interesting - did he win?0 -

There's some pretty big names who are already down to looking for stage wins or going for the KOM jersey. People like J Rod, Pinot, Bardet, maybe even Nibali going by what he is saying...0

Edit:
50% English speakers. Oh my.
What does that have to do with anything...
Reading through the comments section of l'Equipe today this type of comment is quite typical: Quote
"And this is valid for Anglos Saxons in general: Australians for example ..... 10 million people and 4th power in the Olympics .... even if it is a sports country is impossible ... GDR proved it"
A mixture of paranoia of the English speaking World and lack of knowledge.(The population of Australia is 23 million and they finished 10th in the Olympics)

I have to say I'm taking a probably unhealthy amount of pleasure from the current freak out that's going on. Mob mentality has well and truly taken hold, and it's hilarious.0

Would have the news of Ivan Basso yesterday taken the energy out of Contador a bit today?
With respect, that's a stretch.0 -

The more things change, the more they stay the same!
Controversial!0 -
Froome's average speed up that mountain was faster than the times set by:
Hamilton, 2003 Millar, Virenque, Riis, Ullrich, Rominger, Indurain, Piepoli, Salvodelli, Chiappucci, Boogerd
Illustrious list.
Off with his head!
I can't wait to see his brother at work so I can rib him mercilessly about how drug addled his sibling is. Oh, wait...0 -

One question to organisers of TdF: if it's suspense you wanted why put hardest single climb of Tour into first mountain stage?
Yeah, this stage is the sort of one Sky and Froome love. So easy to control and ride to plan. Just like riding some training test to calculate some number.
Proper multi-col mountain stages are much better and Froome can struggle in those. They suit Quintana a lot better.
That's why I had quite a big bet on Froome on Betfair. Add in hot weather and it's not dissimilar to the African terrain he trains on apart from the lack of wildlife ! Plus 2 of the other GC riders have been showing a distinct lack of energy.0 -

Its one of the reasons the tour gets on my wick a bit. Its like there's a whole cast of people just waiting for the first MTF so they can go all virtue signalling.
Millars tweet was funny "only 5th""In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

For Fuglsang to say what he said about Nibali at the end is damning stuff. Vino will be spitting mad, I would think...

Possibly, and I admit it's a way out there though, he was talking about his own team and Talansky's implosion.0 -

It has mostly annoyed me until this year. I was always hoping Froome wouldn't go so fast that it made people talk about bloody w/kg again, but now I hope he cleanly blows every climbing record to smithereens.0 -

Don't bother trying to debate with any of them, just sit back and watch. Anyone who talks sense is ignored anyway.0 -
Let's be honest, the story here is a poor performance by a cyclist who hasn't recovered from the giro, and one who isn't performing at the same level as last year.
Given it seemed to have taken Froome a long time to recover from the 2013 tour, and it now appears that Nibali hasn't got anything like his 2014 form, are we now looking at back to back tour wins becoming (increasingly) the exception rather than the norm?
yeah this tour needs a decent contador"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0 -

Rare to hear such, er, honesty....0 -
Frenchfighter's cut and paste Twitter jobs together with comparisons with doping achievements from the past alluding to foul play/downplaying Froome's win have to be some of the most pathetic, childish msg board nonsense you can read on a cycling forum. And all because "his man" isn't in the running. Oh but I guess I'm a relative newbie to the board and have been blocked so he won't be able to read this, haha. Good entertainment I guess. It's cycling ffs mate not "My Dads got a bigger car than yours" cringeworthy team/rider biased rubbish0
