You have too many men FF, is there a website or something where we can check?
There's a thread.

This idea that you can only climb if born into a mountainous country and have to ride up a 20% gradient to school every day, I want it to go away.
There's nothing mystical about the ability to ride a bike up a slope.0 -

He is. There is even a discussion about how many Sky riders he has picked.0 -

One question to organisers of TdF: if it's suspense you wanted why put hardest single climb of Tour into first mountain stage?
Yeah, this stage is the sort of one Sky and Froome love. So easy to control and ride to plan. Just like riding some training test to calculate some number.
Proper multi-col mountain stages are much better and Froome can struggle in those. They suit Quintana a lot better.Contador is the Greatest0 -

I can barely move my bike on the flat. I'll change it to "to those that can pedal a bike really quite well there's nothing mystical about the ability to ride up a slope".0 -
Yep I see him now. I have to admire your total disregard for squad limits there
Love the sport too much
Could reduce it by half I suppose though.Contador is the Greatest0 -
I'd be very interested to see how Froome v TJ goes in the next couple of stages assuming there is some sort of a battle. The relative improvements between now and the Dauphine is totally ridiculous.
Ignoring the elephant in the room it could just be because Froome is ridiculously thin whilst maintaining all his power, has had an incredible preparation, is super rested and is benefiting from Sky's application of their huge budget.Contador is the Greatest0 -
Also, really really bad day for the TJVG.0

Do BMC not have a bigger budget than Sky?0 -
G going from winning Classics to riding up a mountain without breaking a sweat. Pretty complete rider.
He finished with Valverde didn't he?0 -
Pinot lost 10mins and Bardet lost 9.
Simon Yates down 21 mins along with Tekle.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Don't wallow.
Yes, he crushed everyone today - but what was just witnessed was the best in the World all lined up today for a MTF and the best of the lot battered them all over the mountainside.
Bertie himself said last year that the strongest rider he's ever ridden against is Froome.
Athletically, on his day, he's on another plane(t).
Enjoy it - feel privileged to witness it: a performance like that is what every competitive cyclist dreams of. Enjoy seeing a quirky dingbat from the African bush live the dream.
Looking at the finishing times, it would seem that everyone except Quintana was on a bad day, which of course is ridiculous.
Those time gaps are proper.
Amazing.
Tomorrow's another day though...0 -

Sounds like Froomedog did alright today, not bad effort, I'd be pleased with that. Might make the fast group on the club run."The Prince of Wales is now the King of France" - Calton Kirby0

I think they suite Froome physiologically as well as suiting Sky tactically too - when relatively fresh he can put out more watts per kilo for an extended interval than anyone else - where he seems to struggle on occasions are where repeated climbs can induce a bit of muscle damage and fatigue prior to the final climb.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0 -
/\ Least Froome's not making it look easy in that photo!0

Well I'm quite looking forward to watching the highlights later!"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"
