Contador is the Greatest0 -
Contador making the excuse that he wasn't able to breathe very well.
Holy smokes Batman! Bertie's discovered exercise.Correlation is not causation.0 -
Great performance by Froome, Good by Quintana, excellent by Gallopin, TJ as expected, great by Yates, Nibs has given up and is clearly nowhere near last year's level for whatever reason, and Berto is post Giro f*cked.0

Certainly a climbers frame, not like some GCs of the past.0

Froome's average speed up that mountain was faster than the times set by:
Hamilton, 2003 Millar, Virenque, Riis, Ullrich, Rominger, Indurain, Piepoli, Salvodelli, Chiappucci, Boogerd
Illustrious list.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Not having seen today's stage, but reading about it, that sounds about right. Nothing otherworldly, just Froome and Sky peaking at just the right time and some of the other big names in bad form. It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -
@Emma_OReilly
The more things change, the more they stay the same!
Or everyone has a bad day, but SKY.
Marginal gains...0 -
Let's be honest, the story here is a poor performance by a cyclist who hasn't recovered from the giro, and one who isn't performing at the same level as last year.
Given it seemed to have taken Froome a long time to recover from the 2013 tour, and it now appears that Nibali hasn't got anything like his 2014 form, are we now looking at back to back tour wins becoming (increasingly) the exception rather than the norm? You live and learn. At any rate, you live0 -

Love it.

Well..... Hmmmmm... Not much to say.Contador is the Greatest0 -
Froome beats Pantani's time by over 2 minutes.
What was the stage like that Pantani's time was taken from?
- What was the stage length?
- What other climbs were there?
- How attacking was the racing leading up to the climb?
- At what point in the race did it come?
- What was the weather like?
Context, or it's all bullshitIt's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -

Nibali: "I'm not even a distant brother of the Nibali of last year's Tour."
Could have told Jakob that a few days ago when he still could ride for top 5..

As the group was whittling down we still had numbers. We all felt good. Froomie felt really good, so we were like, ‘Well, stuff it, let’s go.’ Froomie said, ‘Let’s smash it then.’Contador is the Greatest0 -

I suppose you could put it another way:
'Out of sorts Quintana still beats Pantani's time'. But that doesn't sound so dramatic and damning does it!0 -
