Am I the only one who thinks Sky and Kwiatek is an odd fit?

Kiserlovski who is mentioned above makes sense to me. As would Martin But it just doesn't *feel* like a good match.
    H
Kiserlovski is another occasional good Gt rider. So for sky he'd be another high class worker drone.

Kwiatek and sky... I actually hope not. They'd Boassen Hagen him...

Well Cavendish has a decent amount of wins and therefore some exposure for his sponsors but this is a classic case of quantity over quality.

In the rankings, Cavendish is 20th. 'Sprinters' ahead of him:

    Matthews: 14th
    Degenkolb: 7th
    Sagan: 6th
    Kristoff: 1st

But then I am a fan of Cavendish and think he is still basically the best pure sprinter in the World. Lets see what happens in the Tour.

Exactly, his big goal of the season is yet to come. I wouldn't put any of those 4 currently above him as a pure sprinter (maybe Degenkolb...), they're all more versatile than Cavendish but would get beaten by him in a proper, dead straight bunch sprint.

I reckon Cav and his management will be happy with 12 wins by the end of May considering he skipped the Giro. QS's only winner in the spring too.

I'm intrigued by what happens in the Tour, but slightly worried as a big Cavendish fan that the 'sprinters' like Kristoff and Degenkolb will beat him on the stages with a hill and the likes of Kittel will beat him in the 'pure' sprinter's stages.

    Hope I'm wrong though

Cavendish has a theory that Kittel's form degrades faster than his during a GT, meaning he has the upper hand in the sprints in the second and third weeks. Given Kittel's lack of racing, this theory may be even more applicable this year.

In the book Etape, cav was ridiculed for taking the effort of getting over some rolling hills, and beating the rest in a sprint after a stage that shouldn’t really have suited him. Bjarne Riis told him he could do it and he did. I think with Kittle out of form and Greipel only usually hungry for 1 stage per tour, but not being particularly in form, then Cav can probably lay claim to probably 3 or 4 stages if he avoids crashes/ illness and bad luck. Degenkolb is not at his level for pure speed, and if the EQS lead out train functions then he has every chance. He is super focussed for this years race, and I’m hoping he can get some wins!

His results from last year's Tour.

Won on stage 12 & 15, but generally was finishing higher in the pecking order in sprints by end of week 2 and week 3 than in week 1.

Sorry, I thought you meant "Better than Cavendish in week 3".

Might help him to keep up with his leadout unlike yesterday's shambles.

Apart from Paris there's nothing for any of them in week three. Next to nothing in week two either.

Edward Theuns to join Trek. I am sure a lot of people will be happy for his move to WT level.

Still fuming with him for letting me down at 150-1 in P-R...

Great rider though and deserving of a WT place.

Very good for Theuns. Any news on Wallays moving up to WT as well?

Was just going to ask that. Paris-Tours and Dwaars door should make him pretty in demand, you'd think.

We may hear something on Aug 1 which is when the window officially opens. Not sure why we are hearing about Theuns now.

Top-Bonk Schleppers seem to be assembling a decent Classics squad.

Gazzetta say new Italian u23 champ, Gianni Moscon, will be at Sky next year. Would be their first young neo-pro since Rowe/Puccio?

    edit: Seb Henao, of course.

And Edmondson. And Boswell. And Dombrowski as well. And Nathan Earle come to think of it.

Put apart from all those he will be the first. :D

Looking at that list, maybe Gianni would do well to reconsider his options...

Podcast guys on a percentage. Want-away Thomas, Kennaugh and now Porte linked with BMC ink at negotiation time.

    Tinkoff on Sagan:

I saw some reports about my relation with Peter after my last blog with Cyclingnews but we spent some time together at the Tour de Suisse and talked. It was suggested that he wasn't happy and might leave team before the end of his contract. The truth is that we both have a contract that we have to respect but everything is possible. We'll see what happens after the Tour de France.
