Though probably not so much for Lefevre.

More about this on the Cycling Podcast.

Cav wants to stay at QS and will take a pay cut to do so.
Kwiatkowski wants 4 million (Euros I presume) and QS won't pay it

4million! That has got to be pie in the Sky. Contador is looking very cheap at this rate.

"I've been talking to a few teams, but ultimately it's just where it's best for me to go," Kennaugh said. "I've just got to decide what the future holds for me also, you know, what I want to do, if I want different goals and different objectives.

"I've been doing sort of a similar thing for the last couple of years now on Team Sky since I focused on the road after the track since 2013. Ultimately it's going to come down to my decision, where I see myself for the next few years and what sort of motivates me as well. Nothing's been decided yet."

  • I wonder if PK is waiting to see what happens with Kwiatkowski? I could see them occupying a similar berth in the team. BMC mentioned previously as possible destination, OGE too perhaps? Cannondale Garmin? or something more leftfield?

Will Sky pay Kwiatkowski his €4 million? Where would that place him in the Sky money league?

Agree. He is not a good enough climber to mix with the best and I don't think he ever will be. Maybe one week races with long ITTs.

Am I the only one who thinks Sky and Kwiatek is an odd fit?

Kiserlovski who is mentioned above makes sense to me. As would Martin But it just doesn't *feel* like a good match.

It doesn't seem right to me either. Sky have let their classics squad mature, assuming Stannard, Rowe and G stay then they should have at least 3 riders capable of winning next season. Kwia isn't going to be a GC contender whilst Froome and Porte are around, and I don't think he'll ever climb well enough to win a GT.

He's a great rider but there just doesn't seem any point signing him to me, not for the wages they'd have to pay, and it would surely lead to a couple of the current squad leaving.

He'd be there to win in the Ardennes and lombardi and probably Geraint Thomas type stage readers. He'd be a great signing, but its a lot to spend.

So Boonen and Lefevre are on a typical Belgian talk show, complete with terrible in house band.

Couple quotes from Lefevre who's always good value.
    (not literal or perfect translations)
On the Tour: Well we have Cavendish, and let's face it, he's in a contract negotiation year so he should ride well, at least, be more up for it than usual.

On Cav: Will he be riding with you next year?
"That depends on how much we want to pay him" - cue laughter followed by shock as he says it how it actually is.

'Poorte' to OGE. No longer good enough for SKY. Even his domestique work last year was hit and miss when it mattered (TdF). Thomas has been the next team leader in the wings for 3 years.

Cav well past his best. Interesting to see whether he's going to accept a pay cut and stay with a slowly imploding team who still insist on backing some faded Belgium former legend.

Boon/Cav to BMC in amazing double header-maybe.

    Agree...

I dont pretend to know 'everything' about cycling but Cav has 13 wins to his name this year already and EQS boast 31 victories and are currently placed No.1 in the UCI Worldtour rankings... Not sure how that means they are 'slowly imploding team'...?

Cav, Renshaw, Martin, Kwiatkowski, Boonan, Alaphilippe, Uran... Some pretty decent riders in that list... Although I do agree they do not have a genuine GT contender... Yet...

Don't see Kwiatkowski moving on, especially to SKY...

I thought it was a mechanical? Either way, it was a key target missed. I think the podcast said Cav accepted he hadn't fully delivered and thus his value was reduced.

A World Tour win would be nice. Other than that just MSR which he missed through illness (I think?).

Not been a vintage year in terms of sprinting battles compared to the last two years so he's doing just grand imo. And of the three big names, he seems the most versatile so will keep winning once his top-end speed starts to fade - as it probably is now, tbf.

Really :( Will be gutted if this is true... Don't really have much love for SKY and EQS is the team I tend to follow and root for... Really like Kwiatkowski as a rider, so for me, this is bad news...

I also don't see where he fits in at SKY... Froome and Porte seem their top GC men, and even G could do a decent stint on any GT for GC...
