There is that, but they're £400 cheaper than the Fox 34s
  • I test rode the Fox 34 Talas on the Bronson C, and they weren't great. When hitting Berms they rode so low into their travel it was quite odd.

That's actually what a lot of the reviews of the older 34s said, they sit low in the travel, although I thought they'd addressed that for 2014..

How's your build coming on? It deserves it's own thread ;)

I think many people will have chosen pikes purely on the black scansions! lol

I wouldn't buy them purely for the black stanchions, but it would certainly be the deciding factor between Pikes and an equally good, equally priced fork - they look lush. I'd love a pair of the black stanchioned 130mm Revelations for my bike.
  • I agree I wouldn't pay for them just on cosmetics, however justifying nearly a grand for the Fox forks against the Pikes which seem to be getting better reviews was an easy choice!

I'm moving house this week so my build is at a stand still! Currently have frame, forks, headset, front and rear wheels built, front derailleur, cranks, cassette, chain. Hoping to have everything else this month except the reverb which will have to wait till next payday.

I will stick some pics up when I have internet again.
  • This is a nice build.
I hope you are happy with the pikes. Trying to decide whether I should push the button on them myself as I have the 2013 Tallas 34 and they are such a disappointment. On 15 percent sag they just about cope but anything more and the blow through and I only weigh 75kg.
I don't know what Fox where thinking but they have really not done their rep any good. Tried a mates 2014 version and they are only marginally better.
The pikes seem to need a bit less attention by most accounts.

Hope the house move goes well and you can get finished on your build.

Awesome, should be a similar build to mine

I think the cable routing is going to give me a bit of a problem.. I can never seem to get them in the right place and the one cable through the internal routing at the rear

Oh right, either way should look awesome

Any idea what yours weighs? I'm hoping to keep mine around the 13.5 KG mark but I think it will but nearer 14

That is a lovely looking bike. The new wheel decals will finish it off nicely. I am jealous.
  • Looking smart! Been waiting to see some decent pics with the orange and Pikes!

Be interested to know what it weighs too?

I am certain it's right on the 30lb mark that's what transition quote it at with the x01 build . I've saved a bit with the bars and tubeless .
  • 30lb would be a good weight....

whats your tyre clearance like on the rear?
  • Looks great, just need to put the stem a little lower imo.

Tyre clearance is good that is a 2.35 nobby nic on the back which is towards the larger size of 2.35 tyres
  • Good to know, I was going to run high roller II's

I have 2.35 Hans Dampfs, which are very large, and there's plenty of room

How far are you off your build been finished ? It will be nice to see it built up in green ! I was torn between the green and orange, even after I had ordered the orange I was still thinking have I chose the right colour ! I was made up when it came, they look even better in the flesh (as to speak) . Ordered a invisitape kit then it's ready to go !
