Great effort by all those still in - I was shelled out the back once it got steep
This thread has been great motivation (and pretty funny) - misery loves company!!strava - http://app.strava.com/athletes/1217847

I've f*cked it up. Won't be able to finish The Hunted in time if I start Angels now. :evil:Boardman Road Comp - OK, I went to Halfords

I managed to get through Blender but only with the help of my friend Mr Tramadol...Boardman Road Comp - OK, I went to Halfords

God I'm hungover.
So glad it's all over. Really enjoyed Violator, did it at 100% fairly comfortably.

yes Violator was tough, the transition from 5/5sec to 10/10sec was brutal, I was on my knees at this point and it took until the 2nd or 3rd 10sec sprint before I could make any decent numbers.
I ve really enjoyed this ToS, was advised against it but its been fun and im sure it will take a bit of RnR to recover :shock:0 -
A windy 60 miles out on the bike today - one of those days were you have to lean the bike into the wind. I'm sure Grunter Von Agony would have made me do it twice - but I'd need lights.
I'm pretty sure all that pain has been good for me - dropped my riding buddy on the hills a couple of times anyway.0 -
Good effort all those that completed it! Very disappointed I never got to finish.Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

Did Blender this morning, mental torture. Not doing Violator until 6am tomorrow and can't wait to have finished! Very tough both physically and mentally. Well done to everyone already done, I wish I'd started on the Friday now and I would be done too!Vaaru Titanium Sram Red eTap

Just finished Violator and done with ToS! It was fun having this thread for a little motivation.
Which stage was hardest for you? Stage 7 was the one that got me on the second session (Hunted). Blender and Violator were almost enjoyable by comparison0 -
FFS who put that at the end? Managed two PB's but that was horrible  (although I suspect i'll quite enjoy it when well rested ) Actually feel quite proud that I managed to complete it when I only got back on a bike last June.
Really enjoyed having something positive to focus on this last nine days. Don't think much left to scare me on the trainer now, really want to push on and move myself of the bottom of the power to weight chart!
Really hated the two back to back sessions.
KK didn't manage to get me a replacement frame by the end of the tour and even if they had should it really have broken in the first place? Whilst I am heavy I am well within the recommendations they give. Having said that I suspect I wouldn't have been able to complete the tour without the really crappy result from Rubber glove (which I now put down to the weld starting to fail)
Think I managed 11 PB's along the way which I am pretty pleased with.
Must admit I am slightly in awe with of how much fitter and more powerful most of you are than me!
Bugger, what am I going to do tomorrow night??0 -
Have to echo what has already been mentioned, been good to focus on the turbo and having completion of this as a goal, as well as reaping the benefits from the 9 days however minor they will be.
Might try this in a week or two…

The Violator video ran about 15 seconds out if sync for me, ahead of the TrainerRoad profile all the way through. I don't know what caused that but as you can imagine it meant the video bore no resemblance to what I was being asked to do. Not that you get much chance to watch the video during those sprint sessions in any case!
Time for some rest for me now, to let my poor old knees settle down. It's been good though.Boardman Road Comp - OK, I went to Halfords
Tibia plateau fracture - the rehab continues!0 -
It’s over. Looks like 1,437 completed it.

I think 8/14 of the BikeRadar Team made it - so 57% or so.
Overall on Trainerroad 58% seem to have made it - so we're just about er average. Well done us !0 -
Well done everyone whio took part and massive respect to those who completed. I really wanted to take part but, as last year, other things interfered. Tut.Specialized Roubaix Sport Comp 2013

Make that 9/14
Although I was in the Bike Radar team I wasn't aware there was a specific ToS BR team as well so joined midway and am only showing as having completed 7 hours when I did actually do all of it......honest!
Very glad to finish early this morning and I'm going to have a lay off from the bike until the weekend now I think!
I sympathise with those that had to drop out, I nearly did on Stage 7 myself but ended up having a rest day and extending until today.

Nice work ! We're officially "Above Average" at Sufferfest.
There's a tattoo for you.0 -
Oooh - this is a bit worrying: even thought the TdS is over, I voluntarily sat on a turbo this evening and bashed out AVDP.
This is becoming a dirty habit, and I need to break it.0 -
I've promised the Mrs I am not going near the bike till next Sunday but I already want to, which is a worry!0
-
Maybe tomorrow.....Boardman Road Comp - OK, I went to Halfords
Tibia plateau fracture - the rehab continues!0 -
Well can't fault Kurt Kinetics customer service, FedEx delivered a shiny new frame today from the USA. 10/10 for effort.
But looking at the weld that failed, on the new one, it just doesn't look like the load is spread well enough in that area to me. Time will tell but I strongly suspect this one will fail at some point in the future as well.0 -
I'm still f****d!
All my tendons on the rear of my knees and my Achilles are still aching. I had 2 days off after the first 6 stages and then did an 80mile reliability .. or at least 20 mile warm up, 25 miles hanging onto a group of maniacs, and 35 miles home solo into a head wind. But as I said, even after another 4 days off I still dont feel great.
Have signed up for my first A4 race though, on the 23rd!All the above is just advice .. you can do whatever the f*ck you wana do!

Fuggin hell, that's bad news bud and I hope it mends quickly.
On the bright side, you can soon start to do back to back ToS's with a days recover between each tour :shock:0 -

I feel for you, although I've never had a broken collar bone I've seen a few being broken and the poor bug*ers really looked in pain! Hope it mends well and quickly.Vaaru Titanium Sram Red eTap

Thanks guys.
It's not so bad actually. I always feared the pain involved in breaking a collarbone, but I lay there for a minute to assess what bits hurt most and by that time the adrenaline had kicked in.
After 3-4 mins i jumped back on the bike and i was apparent i couldn't bear any weight on my left arm, but i was only 2 miles from home at that stage. I've decided you're not a proper cyclist till you break something and continue riding to finish the stage.
Had a shower (after taking about 10mins to get my base layer off lol) and noticed that shoulder was a different shape from the other, so got food and a brew and went to A&E. They X-rayed and gave me a sling and some co-codamol and an appt with the fracture clinic in 3 weeks time.
I have more motivation to train now than ever, highly recommend getting injured!*

Is it just me or is 3 weeks quite a long time? Surely the bones will have started to set/knit by then?!0 -
