Wiggins is an absolute joke ... Only willing to put in the effort for personal glory (ToB, WTTC) ... and it's not as if he doesn't have previous (Olympic Madison with Cav) ...

At least Cav put in a decent turn on the front ...

Edit: sorry Plectrum, just read your post a few back ...

Don't blame them when It's the selectors at fault.
Who in their right mind would have picked them for this race. Idiots perhaps or Brailsfoed.

absolutely no respect left for Bradley Wiggins - couldn't give a shoot about anyone else bar himself. Did it to Cav back in the Olympic Madison back in Beijing 2008 and did it again to Froome today.

He put in a pretty big ride for Cavendish in the 2011 Worlds, think the weather and the choice of team leader is the issue today.

Did what? What did you expect, he is not the type of climber to be able to provide much support in this race whilst he is 7kg overweight. Even at peak fitness course not suited to him. He knows as well as others Froome won't win so why kill yourself in pisssssing rain ? :D

I know he spends a lot of time in Spain/Canaries.... but you'd think living in the North West Wigoo would be used to the crap weather.

Big crash, few Colombians and a Swiss jersey on view.

It was a noticeably bigger ride than Froome as well.

    Looks like lots retiring.

Then he shouldn't have accepted the ride. There are lots of other great UK pros who would have loved to ride and lend a hand in support of Froome. Froome has been saying for a long time that he was going for this, so its not as though the team leadership was only disclosed to him in the last two weeks. He is pathetic.

The race would be running at 30km/h if they eased off after every crash!

    That's optimistic!

Can't work out all the GB riders sitting on the front for the first few hours, then going completely AWOL as soon as they reach the finishing circuit.

Firefox will support flash on a nexus, or better, the BBC Sport app shows the live feed (no flash required).
Thanks, I'll give it a go

He will ride super dom for Valv and then Joaquim then himself. Pure racer any weather any descent. He has more chance then the South African GB are relying on.

Cummings and Edmondson are well off. GB are getting pounded here - only heavyweight Stannard there for Froome. BC cant cope in tough conditions.

Well obviously some of them would get dropped on the first climb anyway so guess the ide was to make it hard as possible to tire the legs of the classic riders, that's what the Italians are doing also.
  • Good to see that nothing has changed round here.

  • Evans ans Martin were in that crash. Evans bad. Martin 2.30 back at the check.

    Forgot about Geraint also.
