Froome gave another fairly interesting interview yesterday (ITV highlights) where he speculated in some detail about the tiny gaps between 2nd-5th & Quintana, and how they may make for more defensive riding. Contador said he cares as much for second as tenth. Given that Sky would love a break to go, what can other teams realistically do today to deliver Sky exactly what they don't want?

Saxo & Movi to help Cannondale to rip it up? Saxo and Movi to continually fire guys up the road?

Nah, you don't get anything for coming second. Just ask Andy Schleck.

    No Lars Bak?

ThomThom will be gently crying into his Carlsberg tonight.

    Strong looking break though.

They won't let this get away will they? A lot of times won't like the look of that group.
Belkin and Sky will be happy for a break to go. Not a lot of firepower in the remaining teams.

I'd be a bit concerned about 2 x Movistar and 2 x Saxo up the road, but then its probably better to just keep a beady eye on Contador rather than to chase the break. Fail by Cofidis, FDJ and Europcar but then they probably aren't going to be able to stop the break.

Boom (BEL) is in the break so Belkin will sit back.

Bakelants must have some legs for this race! Lets hope he can keep the form up for future races.

Thought Nieve might go for some mountain points so he can wear the polka dots in his own right.

Not all done and dusted yet. There are more riders between the peloton and the lead group.

Kloden and Hansen out front on their own. A group including Gilbert and Vockler chasing.

Kloden and Hansen caught by the chasing group.

Advantage 2'00 over the peloton. Sky spread out across the front. They want this break to go away.

If they choose polka shorts, they should be forced to wear polka everything.

    I mean everything.

Helmet through to socks and even the shoes if possible. And of course the bike.

Let them ride around France looking like a spotted dick.

    Gilbert, too.

Even with no GC shenanigans we should see another exceptional finish with a group this strong. And Voeckler.

A lot of fan favourites in this break and a lot of riders who want something from the race. Should be a cracking stage.

All the hallmarks for a cracker...GC having a rest day before the TT and then the fun begins.
