    I'd be a bit concerned about 2 x Movistar and 2 x Saxo up the road, but then its probably better to just keep a beady eye on Contador rather than to chase the break. Fail by Cofidis, FDJ and Europcar but then they probably aren't going to be able to stop the break.

    Bakelants (RTL), Kloden (RTL), Morabito (BMC), Voeckler (EUC), Jeannesson (FDJ), Vorganov (KAT), Jon Izaguirre (EUS), Navarro (COF), Chavanel (OPQ), Hesjedal (GRS), Flecha (VCD) have recently joined the lead group.
