I am also loving the boar.
And this is incidentally why I love the Tour. This random collection of eccentricities, a sort of secret language that only some understand. Most people in years to come will see a man in underpants carrying a stuffed boar and think, 'man in underpants carrying a stuffed boar' the initiated will think, 'ah yes, man in underpants carrying a stuffed boar, Mont Ventoux 2013.'Correlation is not causation.0 -
Speaking of eccentricity, I've only seen the devil once this year, have I missed him or do you think he is still ill? Mid nineties he was all over the tour, giant bike and everything.0

I've seen him on two stages at this Tour. I just don't think the cameras love him as much these days.Correlation is not causation.0

To borrow a phrase from Top Gear, that's a car in crisis :shock:0 -

Quality post. Impossible to explain to Mrs MM why I'm laughing.0 -
The funniest thing about the boar incident was Carlton's commentary. It was something like "and... yes... there's a man, carrying a boar." Just totally deadpan.0

The organisers have ignored him ever since he got commercialised. I saw him jumping around on Ventoux, though. He's not wearing red anymore either.

That's a shame, I seem to remember a great photo of him from years ago waving his pitch fork at Pantani, someone on here must know the one0 -

Yeah, he was the bald one with the big ears that was good at climbing.

Vous y etes.
Stage 16 Vaison-la-Romaine - Gap
No it is NOT acceptable. There should be a separate rest day spoiler as well as stage spoilers.
Why?
Because it bug gers up up the data for Iain's graphs and pie charts. I love his graphs and pie charts and so should Rideontime's OCD.
I'm half taking the piss and half deadly serious.0 -

So, today's quiz: how many towns or cities can you think of with just three letters, other than Gap? No cheating or Googling now...0

no googling to check if it's real.
And dammit, I'm all mixed up. I thought it was Alpe d'Huez today.0 -
If you are going to demand no doping talk (and use inappropriate language) then surely posting a pic of Armstrong would be against the rules..eh?0

Two more I hadn't thought of, anyway. I've actually tried the question on a few friends "Name six three-letter towns", and no-one's been able to do it yet. Obviously everyone on BR will be able to now.0 -
