Huge disappointment for cycling fans with Devolder taking the jersey. Possibly the nicest nat champs jersey in the World and it goes to a guy who has a suspiciously poor performance most of the year and for the last few years.

I suppose he did a good job to win this race though and did a good amount solo. Big fail from the big boys.

Do they have drug testing at Nationals?

He was very very strong in Flanders

Yep sure was. I wonder how come he is SO strong in Flanders and shi t the rest of the year?

'cos he cares about two races. Flanders & nat champs.

Great job from Cav, happy to see him take it but wouldn't have minded any of that front bunch winning tbh!

My man takes it. Sky fail. This race was 150km to long. I bet Cav is glad that is over and he wont be coming back.

Cav to represent like a true champ. HEAVYWEIGHT. Cant wait to bank some photos with him crossing the line several times in the TdF with that new kit.

Win with it on stage 1, and hope it's the last time we see it.

I cant believe that clock says 7.57. If so they did the course in a average speed lower than a multiple HC TdF stage.

Is that a skin suit Cav's wearing in the second one?

 if it was 8 hours long they'd have overlapped with the women's race FF!

This is the bit at the top of Great George Street, last lap - Armitstead got herself a bit of a gap over Laura Trott and Dani King, not sure if she kept that all the way to the finish or not but they were together until then AFAIK.

Last year the men's World RR was 267km long and was won in 6hrs 10mins.

MSR 2012 was 298km long and took 6hrs 59 mins.

I cant believe this race really took 8hrs - there must be something wrong with that clock.

Edit: Thanks ATC! Phew : )

I am finding some sort of amusement in the Team Sky tweets.

    Team Sky ‏@TeamSky 5m

More congrats, this time for Ian Stannard for finishing 2nd in the British men's road race. Hats off to Pete Kennaugh as well for coming 4th

Not a mention of who won the British champs.

It's pretty impressive that the GB champs now has such a heavyweight break! Might have to try and find it tomorrow...

Good work by Cav and Millar to disrupt the Sky Train, (about flipping time!!)
