Hi everybody, first post on here.
Here is my retro Giant, bought the frame in 2003 along with a nine speed dura-ace groupset, Ultegra Wheel-set and Richey bars and stem. It lay in my loft until 2012 approximately when I started to get interested in cycling again, it was built and then shipped to my place in Nakhon Phanom in NE Thailand, where I spend approximately 3-4 months of every year.
Sorry about the amount of spacers on the headset, but my back won't agree to any lower. Apologies about the photos as well.
Regards

Some cracking looking bikes in this thread.
To anyone that has ridden both the Defy & TCR, how much more aggressive is the TCR? I'm looking to upgrade my Boardman Comp and these are both at the top of my list, along with the Planet X RT58.
Going to look at some Giants, among others, tomorrow0 -
Don't think of them in terms of aggressive or comfort.
Within reason you can make any bike what you want it to be, by choosing the appropriate size frame, stem size, spacers etc.
When I test rode them both I found the TCR fit me better and once set up (for my body) was not any more aggressive than the Defy, but it will depend on your body proportions.
I bought the TCR and was very happy with it until I cracked the rear stay
I would choose the one you like the look of the best, and then see if you can get a good fit, if not, then move onto the next one.0 -

Beautiful
I'm thinking about picking up a TCR advanced with the new 11 speed Di2. Frame colour is the same as this and it'll be a M size.0 -
what are the differences between "advanced" and "composite" is the advanced lighter? i notice it has internal cabling and of course the pricepain is temporary, glory is forever0

All these pics are making me want to keep mine. (Selling to buy a TRi bike). Not sure I can convince the wife I need 3 bikes.0

Composite uses toray 6 which is less strong so the walls of the frame are a bit thicker.
Both are good frames.0 -

That propel looks really nice, love the colours, stealth with a bit of pizzazz. The wheels are very black.
What's with the spacers - do you have a back or flexibility issue?When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.0 -

Shocking - normally because I am in cleats.FransJacques wrote:That propel looks really nice, love the colours, stealth with a bit of pizzazz. The wheels are very black.

Cam in box with that level and after transferring my bikefit measurements across it turned out that it was right for me in terms of drops to keep them. If I could lose the internal tyres (those contained around my belly contained within the lycra jersey) then I may be able to get my nose closer to the external front tyre.0 -
Despite what you have just said the bike remains a thing of beauty!Giant TCR Composite 30

I've just changed my cages to Elites because the Giant cages break really fast. Broke 2 of them in one summer. Now just waiting for seat and pedals, than it's time for pics and some rides. Great Propel btw really love the colours!0 -

Very nice.
Are those V-brakes!? I'm new to road bikes and I've never seen V's on one before, thought they all just used canti's... or discs.0
