Different finishing climbs I think, but same style of parcours."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -
One difference is the split stage day 1 - 128k road stage in the morning, TTT in the afternoon.
Presumably with goal of saving costs for the race organiser.0 -
This used to be SImoni's first stage race of the season, which is amazing considering his target was always the Giro a month later."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Quite looking forward to this race was quite good last year.Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.0

No live coverage of stage 1.
The reason:

On the plus side, for those who prefer "heavyweight" parcour to "heavyweight" names, Eurosport schedules now confirm one hour highlights of the Tro Bro Leon, tonight, at 21-30pm and tomorrow afternoon, around 3pm. (a couple of other slots as well)
For those unfamiliar, the race takes place in Brittany and includes lots of kms along dirt farm tracks and even takes a detour through the garden of a large country house!"Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Will this be the first race of the season Wiggins takes seriously? I have no idea what is form is like ahead of the Giro, he seems to have taken a completely opposite approach from last season. I still think he might be bluffing and targeting the Tour.0

Froome wouldn't have that, it would be good to see though, those 2 joint leaders going for it or even Brad ignoring the team orders and trying gofor it himself, Froome would still win though, probably make Wiggins look quite silly to.0 -
Nah, in my conspiracy theory Froome is going for the Giro hence the form he has shown already. He'll then ride the Tour in support of Wiggins.0

What is it with RCS and crazy stage finishes?
Stage 1: http://www.girodeltrentino.com/clientfiles/images/tappe/tappe%202013/1a1-2013-mappaarrivo.jpg
With just one 2nd Cat climb it will surely be a group. A finish at 600m or even 200m to go would surely make more sense?0 -
Excited for this - but no live coverage will annoy me today Oh well, something to look forward to tomorrow.0

He must be taking it seriously, he's growing his sideburns back! Looks like they will peak in form around May 4th...0 -
The sidies are indeed a serious sign of intent
Update on today's stage:
8 riders in break, 8'05" on the peloton at 64km
In break: Maxime Bouet (Ag2r La Mondiale), Josef Cerny (CCC Polsat), Nicola Dal Santo (Ceramica Flaminia - Fondriest), Pavel Kotchekov (RusVelo), Enzo Moyano (CajaRural), Michael Rodriguez (Colombia), Jacque Janse Van Rensburg (MTN-Qhubeka) e Gang Xu (Champion System)
Vini Fantini and Androni Giocattoli leading the chase0 -

48.5km to go and gap is 8'0 -
Dont know that the hell's been going on but the breakaway now has 8'50" with just 25km to go0
-
They've still got 8' and they're in the last few km now!
Should someone (OP, mod?) add "spoiler" to the thread title.0 -

Though can't see anyone getting in a flap over this one“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

You need to go back to the very start of the thread, and edit the subject in the first post.0
