Replace "no longer read books" with "rarely read books" and you have my experience pretty much described.
Or here "read far more books" since I normally have the ipad with me, since I quite I use it as a computer ie I work with it. rarely watch TV on it, though if I do watch TV i use it and stream to the TV.0 -

That's because you spend too long answering wheel questions on Internet forums If you had an iPad, you could answer them quicker and you'd have more time for reading
That's very true... as I said we did have an Ipad 3 years ago... it was worse to be honest. Now at least I got rid of all the touch screen technology from my life (my wife still has an iphone, but when it dies we will probably ditch that one too).
It's just one step too far in the imbecillity scale for me... at least now when I'm out of the house I am not wiredleft the forum March 20230 -
Yes - I can follow that. I use a iPad Mini for work and it really helps me stay on top of things without having to drag my laptop around everywhere. It's especially good because I can leave the laptop in the office overnight rather than carry it home in my backROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

Well, if your job asks you to be wired when you are not in the office, it is a matter between you and your job employer... if you are happy, all is well... I am certainly not paid enough to work out of hours... althoguh on occasions I have answered to emails over the weekend, regrettably. I'm down with the whole disconnect idea, have rid myself of facebook but still think its a great device (my mini), its the lesser or two evils, the other being a life vegetating in front of a television.0

You could clean your bike more... you could replace those bearings... plenty of things to do... :-)
I suggest less Apple and more Makitaleft the forum March 20230 -

It's actually the reverse - being "wired" allows me to not be in the office. It means I can often be wherever suits me best - whether that's in my Amsterdam flat or at home in Scotland or pretty much anywhere with an Internet connection. But I also find them great as a personal device (I use a full-fat iPad for that) and hardly have need for a computer at all.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

Indeed and that's where the Mini comes into its own, straight onto Parktools website or youtube for guides!
And when all fails, can quickly ping you an email0 -

I want the Enigma fork now to replace the Kinesis one. 2.6cm shorter axle to crown, would make the bike look nicer...
Anyone want to pay nearly new price for a Kinesis DC37 disc fork so I can fund this whim?0 -
Would make the handling twitchier too. What was the axle to crown height on the original fork? If it's similar to the Kinesis one I would stick with that. Slight increase in likelihood of pedal strike too.0
-
Far larger clearances on the Kinesis than the original fork, the Enigma would be returning more to the original geometry.0
-
Definitely go for it then. I'm sure the Kinesis forks will fetch reasonable money.0
-
New Condor disc forks expected in a fortnight. Pre-ordered one...
PDW guards are sitting in the box ready for fitting
Might even clean the bike... maybe0 -
iPete's plans to buy the same gave me the kick I needed to get mine sorted before he did

Looking good! Must be the same fork as my Fratello...RIP commute...
Sometimes seen bimbling around on a purple Fratello Disc or black and red Aprire Vincenza.0 -

I would have probably gone with TRP Hylex... what's the left lever doing?left the forum March 20230 -

Considering going halves with iPete on these (as they come in pairs and we both only need one)

I'd probably go for the Hylex and do the same (split with Ipete)... they're full hydraulic, the feel would be infinitely better than the semileft the forum March 20230 -

Hylex can be had for £100 each, well worth it for full hydraulics on a single speed.================

Ugo, the Juin R1 we might split are hybrids but this does mean I can run bull horns and a TT lever.
I guess I could move to drops on this build and consider the Hylex, would need a dummy brake lever.
A cheaper option would be a full hydraulic mtb setup but not a cross top lever fan.

But overall the R1 seems to offer the best compromise, easy cable setup on any lever and hydraulic pads that both move.0 -

Understood.
I think on a fixie they'll be ace. I wouldn't trust them on a road bike as unlike the TRP HyRd, they have barely any reservoir and not much heat capacityleft the forum March 20230 -

But it'll have to cope with the mighty Broomfield descent!
A long way to go but it sounds like the brakes are decided.

Just love those classic condor paint jobs. Mine has the new one which also looks great but I think the original is best!RIP commute...

Orange Condors are just the best!

Is that an off the shelf version? Looks like they are back to two sets of bottle bosses again?
It was my only minor frustration with the Tempo, only having one set of bosses on a frame that is crying out to be ridden a long way. So I paid to have two sets of bosses and the S3X stuff removed (it wasn't a huge amount, £100, but did mean the frame took 20 weeks).
Looks great though. I'd be tempted to look at the fork for mine at some point. I won't be riding it quite so much this year (did about 10000km on it last year) as I need to get back into gears sadly.0 -
Mine (the blue one on the prev page) is 5-6 years old and can take two bottles. Don't think the guy I bought it from had anything but a standard build...0

They always used to be, then they went with one set in 2014, now they may be back at two.0
