    Good call there!

Apparently I've gone indecisive in my old age, I'd totally decided that if Antur Stiniog was closed I'd call off, and I was quite happy with that. Then you said it was open and I thought "Damn it, now I have to go". And it's taken til now to remember I actually want to go! What a spaz...

We have the b n b in the wrong place then big drives from penny pass

Right, after some discussions with Richie63, we've taken an excutive decision and - as we won't be going up Snowdon - have moved accommodation.

We're now staying in the Glan Aber Hotel Bunk House in Betws y Coed. We have 6 places booked in the bunk house and 1 booked in the hotel.

This place has secure bike storage (apparently a locked cellar - perhaps that will come in useful late on Saturday night?)

The average cost, including breakfast, will be £54 each. After losing 10% of the HYA booking (tight gits), that means you all owe me £12 (cash-in-hand when we meet on Friday will be fine, I've paid for it). All of us non-YHA members were going to have to pay another £3/night upon arrival anyway, so that's not too much more.

Decision on who gets the posh, hotel, room will be taken following a naked mud wrestle on the banks of the river Llugwy .

This means were much closer to Coed y Brenin, Penmachno and Antur Stiniog now, so we can save ourselves some mileage.

In addition we're now also in the same town as the other 6 splitters that were too good for a YHA , so we can all have a laugh and go out for a meal / drink together on the Saturday night.

As soon as I receive an e-mailed confirmation of our booking, I'll send everyone a PM with the booking ref so that we can all check-in when we arrive.

Oh, one last thing - we need to bring our own towels, the bunkhouse doesn't provide them. If you forget them, you can hire them there (don't know the cost).

By the way, I'm going to be working this weekend now, so I definitely won't be having a last minute "f**k it, I'm coming" moment.

Thanks for letting us know, at least we won't be sat around waiting for you to arrive.

    Enjoy the work :D

You'll be pleased to know that I have 4, fully charged, batteries for the GoPro!!

I'd charged them all fully when we got back from skiing but just thought I'd check them yesterday - 3 of them were virtually flat!! But they hadn't been connected to anything???

Will also be bringing my iPad so that we can watch some of the raw, unedited, vids on Saturday evening + in the pub after Stiniog.

Good weekend that guys, hope you all had fun today at stiniog and of course on the little xc run yesterday.

Good to put some faces to names.

    When's the next one!?

Oh, can confirm Danny seems a genuinely nice guy, had a good chat with him and had my picture with him. Was nice on the double black to hear "rider" to pull over only to be overtaken by him going at what can only be described as an obscene speed!

Fantastic weekend chaps!! :D Thoroughly enjoyed it and could not have asked for better weather either, superb all-round capped off by an awesome day at Antor, will definitely be going back with uni soon!! Just tried to show my dad some of the stuff we did, the videos don't do it justice so much fun to ride!

Big thanks to those who organised it, was nice to meet all you new folks too!

That's a great shot! And thanks for the one of me with my wheels on the ground

Thanks all for another brilliant Cruddy weekend, couldn't have asked for better weather, trails or company, just a shame we didn't get to do Snowdon.

For he's a jolly good fello ....etc - cheers for the organisation Mark and Dodge, and thanks for the great company. For those of you who witnessed it - that was the start and end of my short downhill career. Great to meet the faces behind the names and lookingh forward to another one, but less steep perhaps.................?

+1 to all of the above, a great weekend with good riding and good company. Really good to meet you all (some again & some for the first time).

I'll get some editing done and post a couple of vids up ASAP, especially mine with chase cam where - for some unknown reason - my back wheel appears in view followed, rapidly, by the sky and then some slate

Gutted I missed this but I was on the wrong side of the country to get there. If I just nipped out for the day the misses would have killed me.

    Anyone crash into Danny Hart?

He was sat next to Northwind on the uplift, and I didn't even realise! I never saw him riding, so I can only presume he was always behind me ;)

It was a fantastic weekend. Thanks Prout and Dodge for organising it, and thanks to Richie for lending me the bike, it made an enormous difference to my riding! Also, it's made me realise how much training I need to do before September!
It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.
