I'm a lazy cnut and CBA to read 11 pages to get up to speed. I will be in the area (well, Wallasey which is a lot closer than I am now) that weekend so can probably manage a day trip on the Sunday. Will get me away from the in-laws :)

So what's the plan for Sunday? Do I need to book anything?

    FFS!!!

It depends if you want to do an uplift day at Antur Stiniog, which virtually all of of us are doing, or to go somewhere else.

If its Antur Stiniog then send a PM to DodgeT and see if you're not too late to get on the uplift.

If it's the other, then I don't know, 'cos I'm going to Antur!! But speak to YeehaaMcgee & thekickingmule as they're the only ones not on the uplift.
Two's company, three's a crowd so I'll pm DodgeT about the uplift. Would be ideal as I've hardly rode my bike in the last 4 months and I'm a fat git.

    Cheers

Ritchie's not doing it either is he?

I'm being left alone with YeeHaa!? I don't know which of us should be more scared...

Oh yes he is, just spoken to him and he's messaging DodgeT as we speak to try to get on. Richie's mate Mike (Fatfiend) is going on it as well and he's not the most confident descender in the world - why don't you get on it? You'll love the blue and everything on the red is rollable as well.

Right chappies, apart from the original 10 mentioned already for stiniog, I've got requests for more :D

    Oodboo
    Richie63
    Fatfiend

I need your real names for booking, i'll see if I can get you in.

Now, anyone else, shout up soon, like tonight please if you want to go. I'll try to get anybody else who replies TONIGHT on the uplift. If you decide after this, then you'll have to pray to the god of Antur (adrian) to see if he can get you on.

Oh go on then, you've twisted my leg.
Do I have to give my real name? I fear people will stalk me and steal my identity so I end up living in Nigeria trying to give you my uncle's (ex general) money via several bank accounts!
    Keith Smith. Now shhhhh

    Yet another one, thanks Bails!!

On another topic, following a question from DodgeT, I checked with the Pen-y-Pass YHA and they don't have bike storage. This is their reply:
As you are planning a trip around cycling around Snowdon it is important that you are aware that we do not have a bike shed or inside storage for bikes at this Hostel, previously cyclists have secured their bikes in the Hostel grounds.

So I'm going to take every padlock, D-lock and chain that I possess and I'd suggest everyone else does the same - we could chain all of the bikes together and if any scrotes manage to nick 20 bikes all chained together then good luck to them!!

Yeah, mine will stay in the car... If people want to get some off roofracks etc I'll be able to squeeze a few more in. No easy way to lock them up inside though)

(alternatively I might cancel the trip, and pop up to the youth hostel with a brick and a van and steal all your bikes)

If you have two locks you can fix the bike to the two rear door handles. That way the doors can't be opened without unlocking the locks and the bikes are in a position that makes it difficult to attack the locks without the doors open. And you can't open the doors until you've removed the locks...

Can't get to the doors on my car because the back's lined with tarp. For the dirty bikes obviously, not for corpse transportation. The old carpet is also for dirty bikes, not for corpse hiding. The shovel? It has no bike uses, let's forget I mentioned it.

Only 3wks away chaps, keep your fingers crossed for good weather!

Been meaning to say, I have an old 661 comp FF helmet in medium, well used, but it'll do the job of protecting your head against welsh slate!

I'll chuck it in the car and anyone who wants it (if anyone wants it..) can have it.

I might be needing a ff helmet but I'll be taking it easy on my ht anyway.

Ground is just as hard whether your riding a HT or big bouncer :)

Just post up if you want it, then there wont be any arguing over who's having my helmet on there face at the youth hostel ;)

    What size is it?

Also been thinking I should take a fs rather than my 29er. Wish I knew this was coming up before selling my enduro now.

    Medium.
Would be far better on a FS if you have one imo. If not, it'll bring your skills on :)

Medium should be fine. After what happened at Dalbeattie on my 29er ht I think I'd be better off on fs. The bike is in a better condition for it anyway. Back wheel needs sorting on the ht.

Just need a pass out from the missus now. Haven't told her it's booked and paid for

Just got back from 15 days of snowboarding today - turns out that the facilities in Val d'isere are from the bloody dark ages, so the only internet has been on our mobiles.

Aaaanyhoo, when is this ride again? I've completely lost track of real life by now!

Just got back myself from a week of skiing in Serre Chevalier - brilliant snow and a great time!!

Going up Snowdon on Saturday 6th April and then we're all going to Antur Stiniog on Sunday 7th.
